monopoly together stronk. gamer together must oppose
I don't even think they have a monopoly... as a hardcore gamer myself, it feels like most of my Steam library is indie games. If there's even one Activision title among them I'd be surprised. Microsoft yes because I have Minecraft, but that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head.
I think there's a case to be made about unionizing gamers to protect their interests. Even if the merger doesn't affect you personally, monopolies (consolidation of players) usually harm the industry in general.
Indie devs might start to employ the same shady tactics as "the big boys" because otherwise they can't survive and as a consequence, the end consumer suffers.
