Three Shires Stones, marking the point where the counties of #Somerset #Wiltshire & #Gloucestershire meet. The large 'cromlech' was erected in 1859, but the smaller stones are engraved with the date 1736, but they were mentioned as early as 1611. A 10th Century Charter refers to the 'one stone'. #History #Archaeology #Photography
