Homelabbing in Germany is just stupidly expensive - how do you still do it?

For example, if you have a decent home server running at 300 watts 24/7, you will easily pay 800-900€ (825-928$) in electricity costs per year - not to mention if you have multiple servers. On top of that, in my town, internet costs of 60€ (62$) per month for a 1g downstream and 50 Mbit upstream line - if you want a synchronous line with 1g upstream, this is firstly hardly possible and secondly extremely expensive.

For the same price you can also rent a much better dedicated server on e.g. Hetzner or simply a VPS.

How do you deal with this?
