The Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has accused Georgian state media of violating copyright on cultural heritage. • On September 14, 2024, Imedi TV’s program Our Show again presented the song “Baskal,” written to Azerbaijani dance music and performed by Dodona Namoradze, under the name “Armenian Shalakho.”
• On May 24, 2024, Rustavi 2’s Paata and Nika’s Show featured a Georgian version of the Azerbaijani folk song “Bu qala, dashli qala” (“This Castle, Stone Castle”) under the title “Sikvaruls Gpirdebi” (“I Promise You Love”), without mentioning that the song was of Azerbaijani origin.
