I’m not sure how there’s any doubt about his little salute now…

There never was.

It seemed pretty obvious to me, but people do like to pretend

Yeah, it's been telling to see which people I know put effort into justifying an obvious nazi salute as acceptable. It's clear as day though, so only serves as a commentary on the folks defending it, as far as I'm concerned.

The number of people I've seen going "omg he just trolling" and "he really knows how to rile up the populace" as excuses for him not "meaning it" when he did his nazi salute have already driven me mad.

Keep call out the nazis you see for what they are.

I can kinda see a case for the "it was a non-sincere nazi salute" argument, as it does seem like the sort of thing a petulant manchild might do. But I can't believe there are people who watched that and legitimately think it was intended to be any other gesture.

I don't know that it makes a real difference though. Fuck anyone supporting him at this point, regardless of the justification they're using to do it.

The "it was just a joke, chill" sort of excuse should still be treated just the same as a sincere gesture, anyways.

You can be a fascist and ironically do a nazi salute at the same time

You can be a nazi and not do a nazi salute

Does it matter if he did a nazi salute if his actions are already bad enough?

Pretty sure nazi salutes are illegal in Germany

Hence the dog-whistling.

"It's good to be proud of German culture, German values, and not to lose that in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything," Musk said.

JFC. Might as well say "make Germany Aryan again".

We have Weimar 1933: USA Edition

How about Weimar 1933: Germany Nostalgia Edition?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

We'll find out by the end of February.

Like a particularly bad smell in a room of farts.

Not that it makes a huge difference but why did you omit "on video" from your title?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

It didn't seem like an important detail. He chose to appear at a thinly vailed Nazi rally, whether it was in person or on video doesn't really make a difference to me.

Straight up foreign interference

The AfD seem to be pretty fond of Nazi imagery themselves

This one is much more clear

Yeah, any excuses Elon and his supporters come up with at this point is just gaslighting on their part.

Imagine if he did same thing in Germany and goes to jail.
