More people in power need to say "No, that's fucking stupid."

It won't get less stupid. Playing along won't go well for anything you love. Do what's right.

It certainly impacts defense grants, though. There is a ton of research, some of it open source, that is funded by DoD grants that are in limbo just like the rest of the grants out there.
