I tried not to make rules for this community but y'all wylin'. I'll keep it quick and to the point:

  1. Mildly biased headlines and articles are fine, but please do not share opinion pieces or strongly slanted articles here.

  2. Reporting content that does not break those rules prohibited.

  3. Baiting and drama farming is prohibited. If you're not sure whether or not you're in this category, ask yourself if what you're about to post or comment adds to the discussion of the topic at hand, or if you are trying to get a rise out of someone, make bad-faith accusations against one's character, etc. There's some leeway here because I have a sense of humor though, so don't let this rule scare you.

  4. Endorsing or supporting extrajudicial, nonexecutive or nonwar violence is prohibited.

  5. Using slurs is expressly prohibited.

  6. Using the Poisoning The Well fallacy to attack sources shared in a post is presently not allowed (this rule may change in the future, and isolated instances will not subject you to a permanent ban)

“Look, the Panama Canal is vital to our country. It’s being operated by China. And we gave the Panama Canal to Panama; we didn’t give it to China. And they’ve abused it,” Trump said shortly before taking office. “They’ve abused that gift.”

Panama took control of the Panama Canal, built by the United States prior to the establishment of the Panamanian state, under the 1978 Torrijos-Carter Treaties, a foreign policy priority for former President Jimmy Carter. The treaty requires Panama to keep the canal running as neutral territory without preference given to any foreign power and allows Washington to seize it if Panama violates the neutrality provision.
