Welcome to /c/Gay - Your LGBTQ+ Haven

We're more than just a community; we're your haven for celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and connecting with like-minded individuals.

Community Rules:

~ 1. No bigotry. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 4. Keep it LGBTQ+ related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love posts but 3-4 in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

I don't care for y'all in the slightest. But very much enjoy you using it for #3 as well.

Bah, I prefer "youse guys". Because I'm definitely a Pennsylvania mobster from the '30's.

Legally, I was born in the American South. Now, I haven't been down there except to visit family for a few decades, but yer darn-tootin I'm gonna keep using the dumb language I grew up with. Ain't nothin y'all can do to stop me, no matter how many dicks I suck.

“Y’all” is a perfect second person plural.

Old English used to not just have a second person plural but a dual - there was a pronoun for just talking to two people. Pronouns are fun, we need some more.

What was it? The dual pronoun?

git - which I think is pronounced “yit.”

That's so funny. The closest thing I've seen to that is a specific second person plural that usually refers to a specific subset of the listeners: y'uns.

I use "howdy" as a greeting way to often for someone not from the south

As a filthy Texan. I approve this.

Howdy is fun. It's funny. Foreigners like hearing it. What's not to love?
