The Bosox contract is wild, especially considering he was clamoring for a long term deal. But it's probably a reasonable bet, if his body holds up for the next 3 years, that he'll be able to squeeze an extra $50M out of the following 3. And if his body doesn't stand up, those opt-outs were going to kill him.

Wild. That's a crazy amount of money to decline. Looks like he thinks he's worth top dollar AAV though
