In private video, House elections chair says he wants to end early voting, grace period in Kansas (kansasreflector.com)

Absolutely disgusting.

“If it was up to me, Election Day would be Election Day,” Proctor added. “There wouldn’t be early voting. Mail-in ballots would only be for military or severely disabled. But I got to bring 84 people with me, so I’m trying to chip away at it.”

According to testimony the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office provided to Proctor’s committee, 2,110 ballots were received after Election Day last November and counted. There were 603 ballots received after the grace period, and 104 ballots arrived after Election Day with no postmark.

Nobody is sick or out of state or anything else that could possibly keep them from voting in person.

it is an acknowledgement that he knows the higher the turnout, the worse the results (usually) are for republicants. he and his comrades will do anything to suppress the vote using tactics specifically crafted to mostly affect minorities and the poor. two easy-to-target demos that republicants don't usually poll well with.

Kansas is so skewed Republican that it seems pointless to me, but I guess it is part of their nationwide suppression strategy.
