Where I live, we have to pay massive premiums on anything a vegan might buy but a carnist would not. Things which should be much cheaper than the animal product it replaces are instead roughly twice as expensive. You have to buy your own unprocessed ingredients and make your own milk, seitan, etc. for it to be cheap.
