I use Task Up for the same thing, it's still maintained. It's seems like it's more basic than dash to panel, but it fits my needs.

Just if Dash To Panel became unmaintaned (and breaks with a future Gnome update, as complex extensions usually), there is already a basic replacement.

It's so unfortunate how gnome is designed the way it is where extensions break and need a lot of work with new versions. I really hope that the devs would take a different approach than this one day. This dev is probably fed up with it and needs a break.
