And they participated in fabricating the case against Navalny which eventually killed him.

and theyโ€™re quite involved in israel too

(to be clear: so are P&G and unilever, who own H&S, pantene and dove)

[โ€“] [email protected] 41 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

Dove is from Unilever which is British.
Head and Shoulders and Pantene are Procter & Gamble Which is from USA.
Pantene was originally from Switzerland. So I wasn't aware it's American now. Since 1985. ๐Ÿซฃ

TIL Dove (and Unilever) are based in the UK!!

[โ€“] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago

Yeah, Unilever is quite some British people's national prides. It started as a Dutch/British joint company, and it's still quite some Dutch people's national pride.

I don't think they're that good a company to feel nationalism for but there are worse companies (Nestlรฉ for one)

[โ€“] [email protected] 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yves Rocher still sales in Russia. Shame on them.

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago

AFAIK they're at least partially owned by Nestle, so their products are a definite no-no.

I've not used liquid shampoo for about 3 years now.

I only use solid shampoo, which currently is the one from Fer ร  Cheval.

Stylรฉ. Je connaisais pas mais รงa ร  lโ€™air bien plus รฉcolo. Je vais acheter pour tenter.

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

En tout cas, j'en suis trรจs content :)

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 5 days ago

Yeah same I've been on solid shampoo for like 8 years and it's great, and no more plastic waste.

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

This?

How do you use it, though? Like a soap bar?

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

No, it's this one (the site exists in English if needed). What you linked is the conditioner.

And yes, you use it like soap, but directly on your hair. It very quickly produces "soap bubbles".

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Wait, am I reading correctly that it has no perfume?

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The shampoo does have a small scent:

Its sensory formula, with the delicious, natural scent of oat milk and its creamy foam, is just as effective as a liquid shampoo.

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Aah okay! Thanks!

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

Do you have long hair? For some reason I imagine it would be difficult to get it on without missing a spot (I have never tried this before)

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I don't have long hair, but I find that it behaves like a liquid shampoo. But I can't say how it would exactly work on long hair.

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

that's interesting, thanks for sharing!

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

I have long hair and I use similarly looking solid shampoo. What I do is, that I rub it in both hands and it foams quite quickly and heavilly. Then when I have both hands full of foamy soap, I rub it in hair and wash them similarly to how I would with a liquid shampoo. Maybe it sounds weird, but itโ€™s pretty quick and effortless. But itโ€™s very dependent on how good the soap foams. If you have a solid shampoo that doesnโ€™t foam well, you would need to repeat this procedure multiple times and could be annoying.

Lavera, an eco-brand from Hannover (Germany)

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago

I use Valquer because:

  • it stopped my dandruff
  • can buy in big quantities

I like Slovak brand Soaphoria. Theyโ€™re focused on making ecological and natural products. Especially their solid shampoos are great (itโ€™s also worth noting, that theyโ€™re only packaged in a paper box, not in a big plastic bottle).

Other brand that I like (even though itโ€™s not really a hair-shampoo brand) is Floris London. They only have a single shampoo, but I have very good results out of that. But this one is a bit on the pricier side compared to Soaphoria.

Shower gel: Original Source. We love the mint one in our household and have loved it for at least ten years. The brand is British and vegan too, for those who care. They have a lot of fun and wacky variants, but the mint one is still the best one.

For hair I will probably return to Elvital (L'Oreal Paris) when my last Herbal Essence bottle is empty.

As for face creams and other stuff like that, I use Neutral which is a Danish brand that is known for their neutral products that are suitable for people with allergies or people like me who would like to put less toxic shit on our skin.

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Garnier, L'Oreal, Rituals

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

I love polish brand Ziaja, but I will be Testing a Shampoo form Yves Rocher which I got for free ๐Ÿคญ

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

I love the own brands form Rossmann (German but starting to expand) and for shampoo specifically have mostly switched to solid bars. Gels only for travel ๐Ÿ˜‰

What you save in shampoo, you lose in soap.

[โ€“] [email protected] 7 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Well not Pantene anymore I guess :)

~~But I use Guhl for my conditioner, which is european, right?~~ turns out its not, its Kao (japanese).

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 5 days ago

Kerastase is nice. It's Spanish I think.

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

I prefer the other Rocher, far easier on the digestive system

[โ€“] [email protected] 6 points 5 days ago

Whichever one has no warnings in ToxFoxยน. I am partial to Schwarzkopf's Nature Box line but I'm the end I'm not picky as long as there's no nasty shit in there.

ยนExplanation for non-Germans: ToxFox is a mobile app released by German eco-NGO BUND. It lets you scan a cosmetic product's barcode to look it up in an ingredients database. It will show warnings if the product contains stuff like microplastics or ingredients that aren't entirely harmless.

I miss the cheap big gallon jugs of egg cream shampoo you could buy in the 70's. /s

I'm OOTL, what's wrong with H&S? (Besides not being European)

Arbre vert has been treating my hair pretty well

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

I like Faith In Nature. Vegan, natural ingredients, recycled/recyclable packaging, cruelty free. Smells lovely too.
