The effective number of parties in Canada is currently 2.76 and declining - a trend that threatens democratic diversity. Unless we implement proportional representation, we're likely heading toward a two-party system that will further constrain political discourse and representation.

Only Green🟢/NDP🟧 consistently support proportional representation.

Sign up for Fair Vote Canada's newsletter. They're really big on getting proportional representation going in this country. I got an email from them and agreed to distribute 1000 door hangers for them in my riding talking about the importance of proportional representation and to pressure the MP to commit to it.

I live in a heavily Conservative area, but I really want to press all candidates in my riding to support it, working off the thought that we want to be as far away from a system like the U.S..
