Would Iran being attacked be beneficial for Hamas? They would finally get direct support from Iran, wouldn't they? And Israel might finally meet a worthy opponent. And who knows which other countries would join in the war against Israel. It didn't go well 70 years ago, but maybe it might go better now.

I doubt it. Israel is just begging for someone to retaliate, because similar to with gaza, they will use "self defense" as a pretext to escalate the conflict. And with western nations contiuing to cooperate, they will most likely get away with it again.
Will Western Nations cooperate? If this dude starts a great Middle Eastern war on his own and pisses off even Trump, I doubt the EU is going to send over a bunch of weapons when the war in Ukraine is straining the budget. Starting a war with Iran might just be the end of Israel as we know it. I would appreciate an end to nearly 80 years of conflict by the erection of the Zionist state.
