Have to admit I usually just default to Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off, even though I hate doing it. Maybe we can get some other answers and I can learn something a bit more bearable to do!

Might be worth crossposting to [email protected], I'm mod of it so technically biased but also it is where most of the action is ๐Ÿ˜…

My go-to is usually the classic Elastic Bind-Off, as I don't particularly like working JSSBO either. Maybe it comes with practice though?

Unfortunately it seems like I have trouble reaching lemmy.world from my home instance, so I can't really post either. :( Maybe I should make a secondary account at one point.

Ah sorry I didn't realise they'd temporarily defederated! Understandable with everything going on I suppose. Fingers crossed we're all back to one happy family soon!

(Looking up this elastic bind off because I'm very lazy so learned how to do one and just sort of stopped there ๐Ÿ˜…)

No worries, I myself actually didn't realize they defederated until I wondered why I missed so many great communities (including knitting ๐Ÿฅฒ).

But back to topic, the Elastic Bind-Off is really easy, just k2, sl2 back to left needle, k2tog tbl. That's it. Not nearly as elastic as JSSBO of course, but so much nicer to work imo.

I actually just tried it in my lace part. Hope it works nicely with blocking!

Oh my god that sounds like so much less faffing about. I must try it at the first opportunity, thank you!

I saw that you're refederated now too, so yay. Welcome back to the wider world! ๐Ÿ˜„

Oh my gosh you're right! ๐Ÿ˜ Thanks for keeping me company lol

I tend to jump around on my shawls. I like the elastic bind off and Russian bindoff. Or a crochet bind off... I get confused every time I do jssbo, so I only use that one on smaller projects.

I guess I don't have a real favorite. Mostly I try to keep it loose as I work the edge.
