Responses that completely destroy the original argument in a way that leaves little to no room for reply - a targeted, well-placed response to another person, organization, or group of people.

The following things are not grounds for murder:

Rules:

  1. Be civil and remember the human. No name calling or insults. Swearing in general is fine, but not to insult someone else.
  2. Discussion is encouraged but arguments are not. Don’t be aggressive and don’t argue for arguments sake.
  3. No bigotry of any kind.
  4. Censor the person info of anyone not in the public eye.
  5. If you break the rules you’ll get one warning before you’re banned.
  6. Enjoy the community in the light hearted way it’s intended.

Netflix just keeps reminding people that piracy is the answer.

How much does piracy pay writers and actors?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Nothing. Luffy is a pirate. Netflix asked a question to which "piracy" is the answer.

For sure, are they not paying the writers and actors on this particular show? I couldn't find anything on it.

Residuals. Netflix treats their movie and show portfolio like it's being rented by a handful of people instead of viewed by millions. So, residuals on a show like One Piece might be in the dozens of dollars instead of the deserved 10s of thousands. And while that might not impact principal actors all that much, writers, crew, and lesser actors depend on residuals to live between gigs.

Wow, I had no idea. I hope Netflix makes a deal.

I hope Netflix fails miserably

Fails miserably at what? Making a deal in their favor, for sure. I think all of the subscriptions have been great for creators to get their work out, they should pay the creators and all people who work on the projects for it though.

Oh, I just meant as a company in general. Realistically I hope the writers and actors strike a great deal and Netflix pays what it owes
