Sadly Germany's current government is right wing and pro Israel, and the chancellor has publicly stated that they will ignore the ICC warrant.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 47 points 3 weeks ago

Disgusting. I’m so sick of these fascist genocide enablers. I hope Germans riot over this.

[–] mathemachristian@lemmy.ml 26 points 3 weeks ago

As opposed to the last government that was "left" wing and pro pissrael

I prefer the Blue Eyes White Dragon Jet from Kaiba, thanks!

There's a statue of Rome in Berlin?

[–] tja@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

So, somebody was able to confirm, that he was indeed on that plane?

[–] geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml 31 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

No because Germany wants to keep their plausible deniability for violating the ICC arrest warrant. It is Netanyahu's plane he uses to travel to the US and elsewhere so it's highly likely that he used it to hide in Germany.

[–] Gorgeous_George@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

He hid it in Berlin before, it's a representative and extremely pricey asset that is easy to target. Sending that damn plane to Germany without him in it has become standard practice.

We should bomb the bunker and find out. Just in case

[–] tja@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What bunker?

Or do you just generally want to bomb Berlin again?

[–] mathemachristian@lemmy.ml 9 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

The one satans yahoo might be in, but I'm cool with either

[–] tja@sh.itjust.works -1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

And that is which bunker? Again: it is not even clear if he is really in Germany

[–] mathemachristian@lemmy.ml 10 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Oh I thought there was a concrete suspicion, my bad. But what do we need bunkers for in Germany, just bomb em all to be sure. If he is hiding in one, great, saves an expensive ICC trial. If not, well it's not like a country that already openly admitted they would harbor an internationally sought war criminal is gonna make good use of their bunkers.

Did he sign the guestbook at the Führerbunker?

[–] Min3r@kitty.ly 20 points 3 weeks ago

this is solid comedy gold right here 🤣

[–] unwarlikeExtortion@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

Why'd he have to sign the book when it's Bibi's guestbook?

Hopefully right before he takes the pills

Germany is more cowardly than I remember, aint that man got an arrest warrant?

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 13 points 3 weeks ago

the german government has publicly stated many times they support the genocide lmao

They will do anything to not be perceived as antisemitic

[–] Xerxos@lemmy.ml 7 points 3 weeks ago

The German government is deathly afraid of anything that could be constructed as anti-semitic. Probably also bought, but that's just a guess. Pathetic, and I say that as a German.

[–] Gorgeous_George@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

If Netanyahu turns up in Germany (and right now, he isn't here, theres videos showing him in Tel Aviv while the jet was already landing in Berlin), but if he turns up, this might trigger a constitutional crisis. Chancellor Merz has assured him he would not be arrested, but by law he has to be and the Chancellor has control of the executive, not the judicative. Multiple citizens organizations have already called for legal measures against the Chancellor, should he try and interfere with an arrest.

In short: Merz has the power to stop the arrest, but it would be illegal and lead to interesting consequences.

[–] LucKru 3 points 3 weeks ago

He does indeed, and the public prosecutors have been notified, but alas- nothing happens (surprise)

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 17 points 3 weeks ago

Someone sick a chair under the door handle.

[–] LordTal@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Hmm. Who'da thought that the right wing German state was all for death and destruction? Glad my grandfather is no longer alive to see what Israel has become after all he did to help them after the war.

[–] wpb@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago

What did they become? Pretty much all we're seeing they've been doing since 1948. You think folks left peacefully during the nakba? Entire villages were slaughtered, others levelled or burned. And this is not some small thing either. About 700k Palestinians were made refugees, i.e., ethically cleansed. What's the difference these days? Tik tok?

[–] HotsauceHurricane@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago

When I saw this headline yesterday I I smiling from ear to ear chuckling to myself. When I told my S/O they were also pleased.

[–] daw@feddit.org 9 points 3 weeks ago

I think that's jumping to conclusions. Although I am certain our government ignoring his arrest-order is a real possibility.
