I believe there's a bug where that happens if the username you've selected is already in use.

This happened to me too. Head over to https://beehaw.org/u/XXXXX where XXXXX is the username you selected. Your signup may already be registered and waiting for approval.

@bbbhltz ok, thank you, it's there (same user name as here), but I can't login (login button just spins when clicked). Is this normal behavior for an account that hasn't yet been approved?

It could be that your application hasn't been reviewed yet.

This also happens if your username is more than 20 characters long (I had to shorten mine)
