I pointed this out in another thread, but the sheer amount of comments being posted when 95% of the subs (ballpark?) were dark was like.... impossible. I think the amount of bots on reddit is staggeringly higher than people realize, myself included.

Once I realised the sheer amount of {generic word} + 2 numbers bot accounts reposting posts and comment threads, I quickly got disillusioned.

To me, it feels like how I imagine Reddit might have been about 14-15 years ago. I joined 12 years ago but lurked a little bit before that. I’m not sure if what I’m feeling is an absence of bots, or if it’s an absence of a population that turned toxic over several years.
Bots can get in here though, I'm afraid of them overwhelming the site before the user base has grown. Bots are part of the internet now, security in obscurity doesn't work
Agreed. But while I enjoy it in the moment, Im a bit afraid we could lose it. And Im not sure what we have to do to keep it this way.
