I have been using firefox for a long time, but recently the UI on firefox changed from their simple square look to a childish bubbly one. I dont know how or even if its possibe to revert it back. Looking for suggestions and/or opinions on this change. https://i.imgur.com/Z160vhP.png

You can use Firefox ESR if you want a Long Term Release without the newest features. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-esr-release-cycle

Nor for Firefox Dev Edition though

If I understand correctly, Dev Edition is just Firefox Beta with a dedicated profile to not interfere with your main FF browser instance. I guess you could emulate that with ESR too. I don't know how profiles are really configured.

I would give it two weeks. You stare at this interface a lot throughout the day. When it changes, your brain's immediate reaction is "That's different and different is bad", even though you may not actually dislike it in the long-term. It's certainly been growing on me.

You can change individual aspects with a userChrome.css file. For example, I might use that to reduce the tab height, as I rarely click tabs. But yeah, I wouldn't recommend trying to change everything with that. It's going to break sooner or later, as Mozilla obviously can't promise to not change the structure of their UI.

Not really, I don't use Reddit that much now. Mostly just for r/selfhost, but even that... What happened there?

the entire subreddit for that time period was basically about how they hate the redesign and mozila bad basically...

ah I see, I'm not the only one that thinks that then, phew

tbh i actually don't mind it, kinda like it even, my only complaint would be that everything has too much padding and overall too much vertical space is used, but with compact mode enabled I like the new look

may i ask why you dislike it?

Looks to bubbly and gives it a childish look to it, while the old one looks more simple and basic.
