Square feels like the most obvious choice due to their ties

EA has several Disney IP games in the works, I think they make the most sense (from a shitty corporate POV).

Edit: I just remembered they own ESPN too so that plus madden seems like a lot of sense too.

I didn’t think of this but would they sell to a non Japanese company? That’s the question.

Bethesda (now microsoft) owns Tango Gameworks. SNK is owned by the Misk Foundation, A foundation created by a Saudi Arabian Prince.

Its a huge myth that people think the japanese conpanies cannot be bought out by non japanese companies. Theyre just significantly less willing to unless it meant bankruptcy.

Disney’s CEO is reportedly being advised to buy a big game publisher, because money

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Interactive_Studios

Disney Interactive Studios, Inc. was an American video game developer and publisher owned by The Walt Disney Company through Disney Interactive. Prior to its closure in 2016, it developed and distributed multi-platform video games and interactive entertainment worldwide.

I feel a certain lack of long-term direction here. They just got out of the video game publishing industry seven years ago.

Hey, remember that StarWars game that Reddit convinced people to shout loudly is getting children to gambling, thus scaring Disney into immediate action?

Yeah, that was fun.

The battlefront subreddit's rich history. It holds the most downvoted comment of the EA team when they said to work for unlocking Darth Vader after 40 hours for a feeling of "pride and accomplishment". Or pay 10 dollars.

Also expensive loot boxes without disclosed odds.

Seems like a really bad idea to spend your way out of the problems, caused by spending your money on...

What else does Disney know at this point?

[–] someguy3 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Touche. But Bob Iger is supposed to steady the ship for the next guy, not do anything big.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Iger has only ever steadied the ship for himself, seemingly.

I’ve always wondered about Dis’s relationship to gaming. They’ve dipped their feet in the water many times but always seem to run away screaming from the experience.

What did you do with all the time you saved writing Dis instead of Disney?

I jerked off..

I’ve always wondered about Firepoancoal’s relationship to time. They’ve dipped their feet in abbreviating many times but always seem to run astray saving time from commenting.

He's probably simply lazy. Most explanations can be boiled down to that or stupidity.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

Well he said he rubbed one out so thats good enough for me

[–] [email protected] -1 points 2 years ago

What did you do with all the time you saved typing I've instead of I have?

Disney buying Microsoft would be fun

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I think only the other way around is possible. Microsoft are too fucking big.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah, I think people really overestimate Disney. They are just above Sony market cap which about 1/10th of Microsoft's
