I’m dreaming of a Frenkie-Reijnders midfield

How can that last foul not be a penalty after being checked by the VAR?

Very hard-fought but imo deserved win in the end if you look at the chances. Definitely not the prettiest match, but thats to be expected when the stakes are this high. Also how was that last moment not a penalty, ref seemed a bit intimated there

Fair play to Greece, those long balls in the second half were really scary. Realistically we should have converted some of those chances we had in the first half but luckily we got away with it, as our play today just wasn't good enough.

Hopefully we somehow find a centre forward underneath the floorboards somewhere before the Euros

Someone should tell the Greek you don’t get points for fouls in your own box

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Thank fuck.

Hernandez Hernandez was on something today though. So many dogshit calls. He got like half the corner calls wrong. He gaves us 2 penalties, but ignored two penalty calls that were much more of a pen than 1 of them that was given.

Also ignored VAR twice on those pens, which was fun to see.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Hernandez 2 never disappoints

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Feel like the 2 pens that the ref didn't give were bigger pens than the one he did give

I know there's virtually no chance of it happening, but Ireland and Gibraltar have a chance to do something objectively hilarious in a month's time

Absolute dog shit referee tonight

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

WHOOP WHOOP🙌

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

VAR is a flat circle.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

We need to stop getting Spanish refs, they have no idea what they are doing

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Haha ons Virgil niet blij met het veld

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (8 children)

How was that not a pen?
I bet on there being 2 goals, am I being biased or what?

Prime Hernandez performance

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (28 children)

2 non-existent penalties awarded, 1 stonewall penalty denied. Somebody give me what the ref is smoking.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

*2 clear penalties not awarded, 1 of 2 correctly awarded penalties almost overturned by a moronic VAR.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Lol should have 4

Ngl I actually like we won this way. Will make the Greek fans even more annoyed, deserved for the laser pens.

Shame. Boys played well, and that second pen really shouldn’t have been given IMO after he looked at it on the monitor. Ody deserves to play at the highest level. Ioannidis should’ve squared it to Masouras.

Oh well. There’s still the playoffs to look forward. Dangerous teams over there as well; Kazakhstan, Luxembourg and Georgia are nothing to scoff at and have shown how dangerous they can be in the qualifiers, but I still like our chances. The team has improved lots from the failures of the past few campaigns, and we can only be proud of it. We shall go for it in March 😤

Please mr cowman, no more weghorst. I like his passion but he's very limited.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Koeman needs to go to Eindhoven and beg Luuk de Jong to come back. Even if it's just for the Euros.

Punten zijn punten

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

- AEK's owner should be ashamed of himself for the state of the pitch. This is a brand new stadium, you can't be bothered to have the grass in good condition ?

- The Spanish referee showed why Lahoz was the best Spanish referee for years.

- We played quite well given our lack of talent in many positions, if we were a bit luckier we could have got points today.

- We should be able to beat Kazakhstan at home and then if we are mentally ready, beat Georgia or Luxembourg and make it to the Euro.

PS. I already see comments about the lasers again, so I will post it again, that if there are matches with fans in Greece, there will be lasers. In football, basketball, volleyball, handball, everything. In penalties, free throws, serves...no you can't stop them from having them, in Greece the ultras bring whatever they want inside, the police doesn't do their job, the laws aren't upheld. You would have to either reshape Greek society and institutions or have all matches in Greece without fans. No other solution.

If the second penalty was a foul, that should have been a second yellow for Pavlidis no?

Reijnders was fantastic before he was moved up, Hartman best player on the field.

Simons and Weghorst really bad.

Far too many individual mistakes and we got away with most thanks to the players putting in extra effort and getting into last ditch tackles. The plan was solid, the lads gave everything, Ioannidis ripped apart that Ake bloke, Retsos has a place in my heart for yelling in the face of Brobbey and Vlachodimos can only be assumed has testicles the size of melons. We'll make it through Nations League on March.

May Ronald Koeman manage the Dutch for years to come.

Can someone tell me if Malàka would be the good term for the ref?

Awful match made slightly more fun by the VAR and referee giving us something entertaining to watch.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

We fought hard for it but Netherlands is clearly the better team and with much more quality.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Netherlands played terrible. Greece had to win but played without any strikers? Referee was trying to be the star of the game and VAR was horrid. Lasers on the players from the stands, the pitch quality was a joke. Everything about this was horrible.

Veerman leuke voetballer voor de Eredivisie maar laten we t daar asjeblieft bij houden. Schouten is de beste middenvelder van PSV.

Still props to the Greek. They kept it quite tight at the back. Just wondering why their two strikers were left out? If they could just materialise some chances, it would have been a way more tight game. They were mostly toothless...
