Always surprising to me that there is a river "under" the reservoir, even though it makes total sense there was a river before it was dammed.

I wonder how much the terrain changes when it's submerged? Surely it would flatten out over time with silt etc being deposited?

I imagine this will be much easier to cross than the lake, once the bed dries out.
