This community is still tiny compared to r/formula1, but it's growing at a good pace. We're getting lots of posts here.

Lemmy itself is a bit rough around the edges, but development has been accelerated by the influx of new users.

Sync for Lemmy is in development so a nice 3rd party app is on the way!

Given that there were only 2-3 ppl sporadically posting before the reddit thing it’s picking up.

It seems pretty nice so far

Hey, I just saw the post on Reddit from the mod who quit, is that you?

Welcome! I'll miss the r/formula1 community, but this could become a new nice home.

I hadn't checked r/formula1 since the race, and both jeppe and Mulsanne are leaving. The sub is losing two great mods, I hope they both join lemmy.

Less bots, more level-headed people atm

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Haha, you just wait. I hope I'm wrong though!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Growing that's for sure, more so as the reddit debacle continues...

Nobody's reposting teams' Instagram stories or saying happy birthday to dead drivers yet, so pretty good!

Happy to see more and more people moving from Reddit to Lemmy. :D Especially with the mods resigning... that can only be good.

Hey Jeppe!!! Welcome, nice to have you here from r/formula1. In the same boat, I’m hoping this takes off, and I will try to post some content here to do my part.

What are you testing? Any mod tooling/bots/automation yet?

came over from reddit to check this out.

Platform is basically fine from a users POV, I see some people complaining about the lack of mod tools. One annoying thing is because different instances, there are at least 2 F1 communities. I've seen the diehards say it's by design etc etc but that doesn't stop it being annoying as a user.

Also it's much quieter, which is a blessing and a curse. More than zero people means it's at least active enough to be worth checking, but the size of /r/formula1 plus the voting system meant the top comments were usually pretty good, its more of a mixed bag here.

Just fine so let's get the grid setup and go race :)
