I am moving, and in order to secure a reasonable new rental, I had to overlap a month of rent on both places.

So much for that little savings bump my budget was forecasting. Sigh. Now I am back to pinching pennies until the next 3 pay period month in May.

Having to pay an additional month's rent when moving has hurt me a few times, so I appreciate the pain. It's ended up costing me more than the actual moving costs.

I'm looking to find a new place early next year and so I have time to fill up my moving expenses bucket.

I was super lucky to have found this place at just the twice-a-year period eith 3 pay period month and a little extra cash.

I also got a consolidation loan a month or so back, which gave me some additional breathing room, but fuck... saving up moving expenses, as you said, is a slow process these days.

I totally understand how you feel. I've had to do that the last few times I moved, and it was bad for my budget. However, I also remember the last time I only had 1 overlapping day between the 2 rentals, and it was such a nightmare that I really wouldn't want to do that again.

I was looking forward to thinks stabilizing after months of not getting paid, moving, starting a new job. And then this past week my car tire went. That means $1,300 I’ve spent on the car this month.

Sigh.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like a rough stretch. The good news is that your car will be safer, and you won't have to change the tires again for a while.
