In general, content on c/formula1 should pertain to Formula 1, and facilitate news and discussion relevant to the sport. Although we do allow tangentially-related content and content related to other racing series under certain conditions, not everything goes. Submissions deemed irrelevant are subject to removal.
- F1 Fantasy, video games, F1TV, and Grand Prix attendance/ticket exchange are some examples of topics considered beyond the scope of the sub.

Social Media posts are allowed, but heavily curated. Social media is not necessarily relevant or interesting simply because its author is an F1 figure, including drivers.
- Off-topic social media posts, even if from F1 drivers, entities or people related to F1, may be removed. This includes screenshots of banter, burns, follows/unfollows, likes, etc.
The sub does not support Tiktok posts or YouTube Shorts.

Throwback (historical) posts are restricted to being posted one year, three years, or a multiple of five years after date. All such posts should feature an event that is still of interest to the community today. For example, random overtakes or two former drivers having a chat do not in general qualify for this.
- Important events like memorials are exempt from this rule, and may be posted every year. Posts related to important current events may also be exempt at mod discretion.
- An F1 personality's birthday may be celebrated with one image/video that should be posted on their birthday in their country (i.e. the country under whose flag they race).
-
Off-topic posts from other racing series or motorsport in general should typically be limited to major breaking news, though we may be more lenient towards off-topic posts in downtime periods.
-
Posts should not be duplicates or reposts of existing threads.
- Where breaking news occurs, the post with the most relevance / detail / traction will be retained, with others removed at moderator's discretion.

- Max Verstappen wins the Grand Prix.
- Penalty means Lando Norris finishes outside the top 10.
- 3 place penalty means Nico Hulkenberg starts P5.
- Red Bull dominate with their 5th double podium.
- Examples of post titles which would not be considered a spoiler are:
- Your winner of the Grand Prix is:
- Lando Norris given 5 second penalty post-race.
- Nico Hulkenberg hit with 3 place grid drop.
- Posts with spoilers in should aim to use the spoiler tags for competitive session results.
- Whilst this is not a punishable rule, it would be considered a common courtesy. We are aware that not all Lemmy clients support the spoiler tags.
