Rapists should not be elected to the hall of fame.

A place for NFL news, game highlights and everything that excites you about American Football.
Ben gets in, Rivers and Ryan don't.
Though I don't think he really deserves it, Eli gets in and I understand why it's going to happen.
sorry but rivers and ryan don't belong in the hall of fame imo. big ben absolutely does. you should need to make an actual impact on the NFL to be there. ryan didn't do enough notable things and rivers was...good? he should get employee of the month for how reliable he was in terms of attending games but i cant recall any great plays of his. Ben won 2 super bowls and was the face of his franchise. He's a tier above the other 2 and to me thats just plain obvious
Big Ben was getting in regardless, so that shouldn’t even be a discussion. Matt Ryan on the other hand is a different story IMO 🤷🏽♂️
The HOF doesn’t mean shit anymore. Literally everyone gets in, even if they were just mediocre.
I think Rivers is the cutoff. I think he’s as good as you can be without making the HoF. Or at least he should be.
I would also like to say Eli Manning should be in this same conversation. 2 SB MVPs and a long career as a starter definitely puts him on the same level as these guys. Not saying he should be in but I feel he is being left out here
Ben gets in easily. The other two do not.
Big Ben gets in. 2 SB rings and a franchise QB for like 16 years.
Matt Ryan would’ve gotten in if he had that SB.
Phillip Rivers is a no.
You forget Eli Manning. Who has two rings against the GOAT and an undefeated team as underdogs. Wasn’t great, but super clutch in the playoffs and SB.
Matty Ice was the MVP of the league. He should be in.....
Eli Manning should not be a HOFer based on his horrendous consistencyl and win/loss record as QB, but unfortunately because of name, media presence, and iron man quality he's going to get in. But on pure talent he's not a HOFer.
Ben and Philip are in.
QB HOF status needs to be disconnected from how many superbowls they've won. No other position is tied to it and frankly some QBs that are in the HOF because of it were in part carried there by their team.
No other position in any sport is an important to a team’s success as quarterback. Super Bowl wins should absolutely be considered. It would be absurd not to.
Whichever position the superstar is in basketball is more important because you play both offense and defense and are 1 of 5 rather than 1 of 11.
That’s false. The quarterback touches the ball on every play, and everything starts with him. It’s so much more important than any other position in sports. In a basketball game (you didn’t even name an actual position), a particular player might not even touch the ball every time down the court. It’s easier to neutralize a basketball player with double teams than it is to completely take a QB out of the game and make him a non-factor, which is impossible. Because again, everything starts with the QB, and everything flows through him. There is no position in any other sport that is remotely close to as important as quarterback.
Eli Manning is making it before Rivers and Ryan that’s for sure.
Completely agree. No one cares about Philip Rivers and his big regular season numbers. Matt Ryan is a joke. Sorry but an MVP season and a Super Bowl epic fail. Isn't it.
Eli on the other hand -- ultra clutch, 2 bowls against Darth Vader, played in NYC, and he's still relevant and funny.
It's the hall of fame not the hall of stats. Eli 100% before either of these guys. Matt Ryan give me a break.
How you could mention Arron rogers but not Big Ben is ridiculous. Same caliber. Similar stats. Similar accolades.
Would just be fun to see Rivers win is to his 23532634r children, their spouses and their 235283u45234 children could fill the stadium. :)
He’d be so dadgum proud!
They just need to be more strict. Big Ben as 2 rings and a ton of winning seasons, he’s in. Ryan and Rivers are not in. They were just good QBs for a while.
I thought Big Ben was a no brainer. Pivotal part of 2 SB's. Ryan and Rivers were good but not HOF worthy. It's ok that not every good QB get's into the hall.
Matt Ryan nor Stafford should get in. I never saw them as some of the greatest QBs ever if our time.
Eli should not get in but he is only getting in off his name , and winning 2 rings vs peak brady in epic fashion.
Rivers should get in but he won’t because he doesn’t have a ring but he actually was one of the best QBs ever.
If they had started and finished their careers 10 years earlier with the same stats , it’d be a yes but we’re in a different era now guys you gotta factor that in.
In an era when the Patriots consistently lapped the field, the Steelers were the next-most successful team for most of Roethlisberger's career. Matty Ice's most memorable career moment is the meme of all memes. Philip Rivers spent his entire career accumulating B+ stats and achieving nothing whatsoever of note.
Ryan has a reputation for blowing leads imo. Not just SB51 and 33-0, I swear the falcons had at least 10 games where they were 95+% likely to win and still lost under Ryan.
Retired QBs: Brady, Brees, Big Ben
HoF maybes: Eli, Rivers, Ryan
Active players: Ayahuasca man and that 28-year-old dude in KC.
Canton is usually lenient with QBs.
Be a season MVP or have rings, and it helps to have some SB MVPs too.
Brady had both (3/7/5)
Brees (0/1/1)
Big Ben (0/2/0)
Eli (0/2/2)
Ryan (1/0/0, should have been 1/1, goddamnit)
Rodgers (4/1/1)
Mahomes (2/2/2)
PR17 has been a statistical anomaly. Maybe in 10 years, he'll make it.
But they gotta induct first those who are eligible and worthy but haven't been inducted for some reason.
The NFL HOF will always suffer because its annual requirement for a minimum number of inductees opens the door to the good versus the great. There are years MLB has zero new members, and I'm just fine with that.
I personally think Big Ben is a lock; 2004 Rookie of the year and the youngest QB to win the Superbowl, he virtually owns all of the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise passing records. He's 3rd all-time in 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives, he's got 3 AFC championship trophies, and won 2 Superbowls. The Steelers never suffered a losing season with him under centre, and before the Mahomes craze, Big Bens brand of backyard football lit up highlight reels. Yes, he never had any MVP's or double digit pro bowl appearances, but when it came to winning games Big Ben was special, and I think the voters will see it that way.
Matt Ryan gets in eventually i think. MVP, SB appearance, 2 NFC championship games, all-pro, OROY plus 14 years in 1 place.
Rivers has none of that except longevity so I don’t think he does.
Eli belongs in this discussion. One of only five players ever to win multiple Super Bowl MVPs. Also has the raw numbers and one of the longest starting streaks ever
This Eli slander shall not stand.
Ryan and Rivers not winning a chip will keep them out even if i think both have a good case for sneaking in
Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and Big Ben are all pretty much locks in my opinion. Quarterbacks with two Super Bowls pretty much always make it in. Eli Manning will probably get in as well.
Rivers is a maybe. And Ryan is a no.
Big ben is most likely id say highly likely i think rivers is questionable and matt ryan not likely imo
Matt Ryan is in the same group of guys like Boomers Eaison, Donovan McNabb, Rich Gannon, Randall Cunningham. Great QBs who were just on the Precipice of Hall of Fame but not quite there
Although I do think it's possible they may get in a senior committee hall of fame.
