So we are back to believing Hondo again?
Las Vegas Raiders
Mayock ran circles around Ziegler. His mid to late round picks are hitting either for the Raiders or other teams, give him his flowers.
Ziegler wants another gm job he is trying to separate himself from McDaniels.
Just another example of why it’s a horrible decision to let the coach have final say on personnel. It’s shocking that some people still want Harbaugh to get the job. We’d be repeating literally every mistake.
I thought Hondo didn’t know shit, so why are we believing this now? Confirmation bias?
I'll take the titles word for it, I can't bear to listen to that dude talk for 35 minutes.
Funny, when my boss and I disagree, she tells me what the correct thought process should be.
Ziegs camp has to be the one leaking stuff to Hondo, right?
I'm starting to feel like the resident Hondo hater around here, but man I just cannot stand the guy. You bring on a guest, ask him questions, then proceed to:
-
answer them yourself before your guest can
-
cut him off
-
continually pat yourself on the back for asking hard questions.
-
There were multiple instances of him being like, "Zeke, don't I ask the toughest questions? Aren't I the fairest reporter? Tell the people how fair I am."
-
Then at the end he had the nerve to talk about how people were thanking him for hiring a black reporter, "But oh no, I didn't hire him 'cause he's black! See look how cool and nice I am!"
-
And then 2 minutes later he yelled at Zeke to "Speak English!" because Zeke referred to a "dope hoodie", and Hondo apparently thought "dope" was a bad thing.
I gotta stop giving this blowhard my clicks. He's terrible.
He’s been saying Zieg didn’t agree on a lot. I’m about to say something that many won’t agree but I just have to say it
Zieg is a good GM and if he divorces himself from JMD I think he can be a top GM. His big problem was unable to draft DTs. I think mostly every pick this draft was a hit besides Byron Young. I know we haven’t seen Chris Smith so that’s up in the air, and Wilson is improving slowly and people need to understand that pick was more out of necessity, and I think he develops into a good DE in time.
I believe in Champ but I think grouping up Zieg and JMD doesn’t sit right with me. I would also love to get some intel on the Chandler contract and if JMD had anything to do with that. But as of now I think Zieg will be a top GM if he divorces from JMD. I hope Champ is the real deal, this team needs stability.
So why was Jimmy G hired? Bitch ass GM.
Wow Mcdaniels wore the pants in that relationship.
Tired of having fake GMs that cower to a mediocre coach.
Look at the Steelers organization. Kevin Colbert was GM for 2 different coaches and was responsible for getting the coaches hired and picking players. It shouldn't be the opposite way.
Ultimately, it was on Zieg to attach himself to McD in the first place so he deserves blame for bad moves like this even if he didn't have the same personnel power.
There doesn't really seem to be any negative stories about Zeigler. Unless i missed a story. Very likely
Dave just kinda be under McD control.
Old news time to move on Raider nation.
That is a hideous building
If that’s from Hondo it’s the fucking truth.
They were plants. I don't trust Jimmy either. I don't care if he cheers on the guys in the locker room. I don't care he "put his body on the line". He got a check, he had to put his body on the line. Who wouldn't for 20+ million plus dollars. It just reeks really fuckin bad of behind the scenes bullshit going on. I implore the NFL take ahold of JMD and Jimmy G's phones to investigate any conversation that may have occurred before he brought him over.
As much I hated McDaniels. If dude was making the money he was making, he wasn’t going to defer to GM. Especially at the QB position. That was probably the decision that ultimately cost McDaniels his job. Which is weird in a sense that Raiders also drafted AOC. But my all accounts, that was who Zig wanted and convinced him they should draft. His hubris was out of control.
When has the HC being the GM ever actually worked? I swear, it was so incredibly obvious that one of the biggest issues with Gruden was going to be his control of the roster. Then you go and do the same fucking thing with the next HC hire.
When is Davis going to learn hire a fucking good GM, then work with him to hire a good HC. They don't have to be best friends or even know each other. The GM should have a lot of scouting and roster building experience. Obviously you want guys that can work with eachother. Like obviously if the HC likes someone or dislikes someone they can work together to move talent around. But we should never hire someone at HC who has unchecked roster power again.
Hondo says he asked the hard questions of Josh McD? Huh? Guy asked softball questions every presser so he could keep his insider access. I never once heard a question that made JMD “uncomfortable.” I don’t think it’s a problem, but to say that you asked tough questions when you didn’t is not genuine.
At one point 1/5 of the active roster was ex-Patriots. Throw in the GM, HC, OC, DC... and I think a couple other coaches... the whole org wreeked of left over spare parts from the Patriots. Or, should we say, spare-Pats. I'm not gonna blame the players. But dammit, kick that Patriot comraderie to the curb and commit to the Raiders! Mike passing the buck... pssshhh!
