It was a worse tackle than a couple of the others that have been given in the PL this year - no idea why that one commentator is surprised about it? Why are they arguing about if it's vindictive or not - it's obviously dangerous and lazy, even if not vindictive?

Really weird one. Didn’t really look intentional but his foot was so far wide for some reason and it was very reckless, that could have ended really badly.
Another case of VAR interjecting to try and make a game more competitive.
Defenders hate this one trick!
Just slide your foot under the defenders foot before it comes down for an easy red card.
Shielding the ball and an accident happens = a red? Sorry, shit happens sometimes, doesn't mean it's reckless. That's a stupid red and you can't justify it any other way.
Very unlucky, but still a red card.
Apparently all you need to do is stick your leg under someone’s foot while they’re stepping to force a red card on the other team
Great precedent that will not be applied after today
Remember when Shaw leg broken in half and Moreno walked out no foul and then scored after? That's reckless.
Rashford 100% just tried to shield the ball and Kobenhavn player literally put his foot under where Rashford landed his leg when he didn't see it. There was nothing reckless there, it's just very normal action with no malicious intent at all.I thought it's just a common sense.....
surprised my the amount of ManU flairs agreeing with the (correct) red card also surprised by the amount of neutral flairs who believe that accidental ankle breakers have a free pass on the pitch
Red seems a bit harsh but at the same time also correct somehow? Idk
Warning: /r/soccer thread about Rashford. Studs on leg snapping stamp on player's shin, "twasnt never a foul that". Anything this guy does is excused.
Obviously Rashford doesn't intend to catch him like that, but he does, and I think red is the correct decision. Being unlucky does not mean the decision was unfair.
Was confused at first thought there was nothing in it but my god thats fucking awful to look at
Is that really a red?
The officials are desperate for Copenhagen to win this match
Ten hag is going to blame so many things in the presser
🤌🤌🤌
Jones got sent off for a much lesser challenge. This is a career ender on another day.
Clear red. This could've ended really nasty. Got some recent Marcelo red flashback.
Need to stamp out those, dangerously overly protecting the ball, so i'm not really complaining.
I dislike ManU but i absolutely despise red card decisions like these.
Everyone and their mother knows this was utterly unintentional.
Is this really what a red card should be about? Technicalities?
For me it should be the exact opposite: A red is when people deliberatly try to injure, or provoke injuries.
None of that happened here.
And this is comming from a guy liking Kopenhagen, Liverpool and City.
Personally I think red is a bit harsh here, yellow for sure, but that rashford is in possession and doesn't appear to see the other player I think saves him. Honestly though I could see it teetering red. Really unfortunate accident though, hence why I think rashford shouldn't have been given red.
Refs got zero ball knowledge.
It was the right decision he’s out of control and could’ve easily broke his leg
10hag bringing best out of Trashford
I mean what do you want from the ref there
Ah yes, looks like we've got our clown car back on the road.
Definite red though
If Romero was a Red, this is a red.
Unintentional and unlucky, but the correct call.
Fuck off
There’s our weekly horrendous decision… his ankle is already planted, it’s not high. How?
As a Man U hater, that's a red
This kind of red really harsh. Yes it was dangerous tackle, but one that was forced on Rashford rather than he had any say about it. Should be at most yellow. Footballers today cant focus on playing football anymore....
from Chelsea fan
Intent doesnt matter. Its dangerous play even if its an accident. Clear red.
Idk.. He just tried making himself big and accidentally stepped on his leg. I know how it looks, but 0 intention and purely unlucky imo
Fucking rubbish decision he’s not even looking at the player
By what fucking rule is that a red?
united actually needs to put out a statement
Ouch
Lads we can start party a bit earlier
ffs he tracked back once since the start of this season and he got a red card
Zero intent nor an attempt at a tackle
Another VAR masterclass
Just when we were having a good match ...
Honestly , one relaxed game is all i fucking ask for
He's shielding the ball man, fully accidental.
Did not expect that
Idiot.
At most this is a yellow
