I do hope we go after Bo Nix. This young man is very football intelligent. Great reads, aduibles and runs when needed and when not needed.

I hope we are out of the running in terms of season wins and playoff hopes. If not, then i hope we make a play for this young man.

That said, i hope AOC becomes great and gets it done so we can hit on DT/DB/OT.

Fuck them jets.

draft a 1st rnd qb no matter if AOC balls out or not. then a right tackle, D tackle. and whatever else after that

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

No fckin way. Bo Nix is no bueno

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

In Farva we trust.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Who are the other QBs that will be later in the first or second that may be good? Cuz I'd rather they trade down. They need to not avoid the DT position anymore.

I think there is a decent draft class at QB. I keep seeing mock drafts of Raiders being 8th, picking JJ McCarthy out of U-M.

Then they talk about Harbaugh headed back to the NFL. I don't know how to feel.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Of all the draft eligible QBs, Bo Nix is at best QB5. I have him ranked somewhere in the 7-10 range.

I have Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, Michael Penix, Jordan Travis, Shadeur Sanders, and Quinn Ewers definitively above Bo....but I can see the validity to people having Jayden Daniels, Joe Milton, and JJ McCarthy above him.

Bo Nix struggled against SEC defenses..transferred to the Pac 12 and is lighting up a conference that doesn't play defense. Drake Maye is the top qb in this class IMO

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Drake Maye will be the #2 pick. The Raiders will not be picking that high and I really doubt they’ll trade up.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah as much as I'd like to have Maye, unless we lose out, which I dont want to happen, it will be too expensive. If we go on a run here the last 8 games and barely miss or squeeze into the playoffs I wouldn't want to trade all that capital away when you could use it to build around what you've got.

I think he’s the 2nd best QB after Caleb. I think Penix and Daniels are freak athletes but Penix is not very accurate and Daniels did nothing at ASU so I worry it’s a team/system thing. Not to mention Daniels is more of a true runner (from the limited number of LSU games I’ve watched) and they don’t tend to do well in the NFL. I haven’t watched a ton of Maye but the ACC is by far the weakest conference. I think Nix throws a good ball, is very smart and is mobile enough to run when needed/avoid pressure in the pocket.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I’d draft Bo before Caleb,

Maye, Nix, Caleb Penix in that order myself. But I also said pass on CJ Stroud because I thought for sure he’d flame out.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Honestly I feel like Bo Nix is a product of the offense and being in college football for so long. I’m not a prospect guy who knows how to read tape and dissect plays but I have a feeling he may not be a top tier choice and more of a game manager like we have had before. I’d rather shoot for the upside. Bo Nix is good don’t get me wrong but I just don’t trust it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That describes nix,penix, and daniels.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I want maye on this team, but he’s gonna be one of the 1st 2 qbs picked. If not penix but his knees would make me hesitate tbh. Caleb has talent but his ego could be too big, and I don’t think we’ll even be that bad to get him regardless. Nix is qb4 but if we believe in AOC, why wouldn’t we believe in a guy like bo?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

If the raiders win a lot that means AoC prob the guy. If they don’t then they have a better draft pick

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

While I’ll agree unless Aiden blows us away the next few weeks we should draft the best QB we can.

However Bo Nix might be well off the board before we draft.

Bears, Cardinals, patriots, giants need a Qb and will draft higher than us

Vikings, Bucs, Rams, Falcons, Packers and commies might draft ahead of us and need a QB.

In short even if fade away these last few weeks, I don’t think we sniff Bo Nix unless we start trading the farm.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Plz don’t let us be dumb enough to Carolina Panther it. Trade the farm and then wind up with the 4th or 5th best QB of the draft.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Bo Nix...did you see him when he played in the SEC?? He's the next Zach Wilson, buyer beware.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah I do not trust OPs decision making if he’s watched Bo Nix for the last 5 fucking years and thinks he’d be good in the pros

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I’m not saying he’s not good, but I am saying he wasn’t at all this before Oregon, and really just this year…He’s also 24… I think he’s fine, but the system and players there really helped him more than his total talent.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

He is not the guy. I hope they draft Deion's son.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I hope AOC is the guy, and we can somehow draft Marvin Harrison Jr.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

When we had Carr we said he wasn't enough good to make us contenders. I wonder if AOC will be as good as Carr. But then we say we don't need an upgrade.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Apples and oranges. Carr could make all the throws but his mistakes are costly. AOC doesn't have Carr arm talent, but can make progressions and if he can take care of the ball and not turtle every time a dl gets in the backfield, he will do some things better than Carr. Hopefully AOC doesn't lose his fearlessness to make tight throws.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Bo Nix is a high floor-low ceiling kind of prospect. JJ McCarthy and Jayden Daniels have more potential IMO.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I’ll take Caleb Williams. He scrambles better than Nix, and you know the Raiders won’t bring in a good OL and a high QB draft pick.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

We will see how Aidan finishes out. Nix is alright but he’s gonna go high in the first rd. But In my opinion there is way better players available at the same time (Marvin Harrison Jr, etc,) I just don’t think Nix is good enough for a first rd pick. If we could get him in the second then yeah but we know that won’t happen

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Dude is like 27 years old in his 9th year in college. No thanks

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

"I hope we are out of the running in terms of season wins and playoff hopes"

I think that's a typo, for the sake of your even including yourself in the "we" of raiders fan-dom

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

As an Alabama fan who watched us run that kid out of the SEC, hard pass

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The enlightened SPENCER RATTLER TRUTHERS know to stand back and stand by. Sleepy Bo and No Way McCarthy are 2nd rate QBs and sure draft busts. Our glorious Raiders will select the best QB when he falls right to us, right out of South Carolina.

Please, do not drink this Kool Aid.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

he sucked in the SEC

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Whether we a draft a QB or not, the one thing I know for sure is that improving our O Line has to be a top priority in the draft or via free agency.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

AOC is not the guy

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

AOC doesn’t need to be elite. He needs to be good. The raiders are in a great position right now.

Let’s assume AOC is fine. You resign Jacob’s, you then either trade your pick for Oline help or Draft Oline. Maybe throw in a DB or two. You are set.

You have Elite Receivers, an Elite Running back, top tier defense (in the box atleast). AOC just has to be good enough to not lose you games. If he is, you fill the Oline holes and DB Holes in off season. Playoffs.
