Last year the Lions were 1-6 heading into week 9. They went 8-2 the rest of the way. Which team, with a horrible record right now, do you think will finish the season off strong and be a spoiler along the way?

Last year the Dolphins were 8-3 heading into week 13 and then finished off with 5 straight losses, almost missing the playoffs. Which team, with a great record right now, do you think will end the year with a bad streak of losses?

My fear is that my Lions are about to come up against a bunch of bad losses. 5 divisional games (which always can go either way) two of which are against the Vikings who are putting together a streak and getting healthy plus 2 more against the Bears who have a mobile QB that seem to give the Lions D fits. Plus the Cowboys! Maybe its the 30 year Detroit fan in me expecting the worst, but I fear them even losing the division. Its set up too perfectly for us Lions fans to have the proverbial "ball pulled out by Lucy" in week 16-18.

Chargers, their D Line murders weak O Lines and they’ve got a pretty easy remaining SOS in those regards

Steelers are winning the sb

I honestly think the Steelers have a good chance to sorta collapse as this season goes on. We lost our two starting linebackers for the season, Minkah is out for an undetermined period of time, and now our second safety Keanu Neal is on IR too. With the injuries to Watson and Burrow people have joked about the Steelers getting really lucky, but honestly our defense is abysmal right now outside of defensive line and Joey Porter Jr. (and even then Cam Heyward and Larry Ogunjobi, the two defensive tackles we used most last year, are playing well below their play last year), and any team with a decent O-line or QB that can get the ball out quickly should carve us up. I don't think any game left on our schedule will be easy.

Steelers for sure. They are the dark horse of this season

Unexpected late run: Bengals

😞

49ers next loss will be in the preseason next year.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

You guys are under the Kirk Cousins curse. No super bowl win for San Fran this year

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We might collapse. I’ll have a better read on the caliber of our team after Monday. Should we with all the weapons we have? Hell no, but our secondary is porous, and any team can just run slants on us all day long.

Colts have the easiest schedule in the league. I'd wager they make a run and the Texans game could be a win and in game for both teams

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Put in my 5 year old cousin at qb and the patriots might actually win a game

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Denver and Houston have favorable schedules down the stretch and could get hot if they stay healthy.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

At worst Detroit splits the divisional games. 2-3 in that stretch wouldn't kill them.

I don’t even want to think it into existence

The Lions are interesting and I honestly don't know what to think yet. First I'm a Vikings fan so my opinion is slanted. However the last two seasons, I've said several times the Lions were better than their record indicated. This year I'm not certain they are as good as their record. I do think they're good, but with the exception of week 1, when they play good teams they look bad. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost the first round or make it to the NFC championship or even the Super Bowl. I don't expect my team in the SB but I do think that how they're playing right now, they could potentially make it to the second round in the playoffs.

If I had to bet money today, I'd say Ravens and Eagles, but I don't think anyone would be surprised by that.

Cowboys always knock themselves out of the playoffs.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The Dolphins again, but I guess it doesn’t count when it’s expected

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Jacksonville could already be hitting the start of a collapse

I only have a few hours before the harsh reality sets in but let’s just say the Bears run the table!

And Cowboys are 6-3, so let’s pick the low hanging fruit and say they’re 8-9 by the end of the season

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Minnesota started 1-4 and now is 6-4 and has been without Jefferson and Kirk is done for the year. I think they beat Denver this week.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Broncos. Defense has figured it out, Russ playing really good, Javonte getting healthy.

it's Dobbs time

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Patriots

We are going to fuck up after the bye week and win 6 of our last 7 games giving us a 8-9 record… respectable enough to look mid on paper, bad enough to miss the playoffs and painful enough to fall out of the #3 draft position

Basically a lose lose lose situation

Dont be surprised if the Bucs dont make a run and Im pretty sure Miami's going to drop a few as the weather gets cold.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I don't know man, I just don't see the Lions losing more than one game in the four games against vikings and Bears. I think clinching the division is not only realistic, it's almost a sure thing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I’ve said it once I’ll say it again the jets limp to getting Aaron Rodgers back win 4 games to go 11-6 and win the Super Bowl

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah… get over your Lions ptsd. We’re not losing the division.

Well if it's unexpected then it's gonna be tough to expect it!!!

Anyways, Jags are gonna explode :(

I know you all hate us. But don't sleep on us.

Arranged by division with a team most likely to make a run.
Good teams not listed because they're not 'unexpected'

AFC South
The Texans are going to win the AFC South, and may very well win a playoff game. Stroud is great, and that defense is underrated. No stars, but well-coached.
IND sucks at QB.
TEN is bad.

AFC West
The Broncos have all the parts and a good coach has got them together.
LAC is just waiting for their dumbass coach to go full Charger. Then Belichick can be hired.
LVG doesn't have the QB to do the job anymore.

NFC North
MIN - Dobbs is a good story. They may make the playoffs because the NFC is so weak
GRB - No love.
CHI - LOL

NFC South
NOL has Carr now, but that guy just exudes "Nope" to me.
TAM may be a bit better than we think. Todd Bowles just isn't a good coach.
ATL - Arthur Smith shouldn't run a fork lift for Arthur Blank, much less his offense.
CAR is 5 players away from being good enough to evaluate the QB properly.

AFC North
The only AFC team that had underachieved based on roster was the Bengals. And to make a late run you have start out weak. But that's over.
CLE/PIT suck at QB.

AFC & NFC East (They get over-talked everywhere else. I'm condensing them.)
The Cowboys and Dolphins are all sizzle, no steak. Neither has beaten a winning team.
The Bills roster wasn't that good, and now it's a front-office smoldering dumpster fire.
Shut up about the Jets. It ain't happening, Rich Eisen.
WAS is a good story. Getting rid of Snyder is the win here.
NYGarbage
PAThetic.

NFC West
SEA - Could make a run, but are they unexpected?
ARZ - *tumbleweed*
LAR - Straight to DVD in a league built for streaming.

5 divisional games (which always can go either way)

The rest of the division is literal diarrhea. Lions got the division under lock and key

The Bills and Bengals are already collapsing, and the Texans are already surging.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

No one in this thread is mentioning the rams and it’s a little surprising to me. Stafford is proven clutch (though definitely over the hump) you’ve got kupp healthy, a ROTY candidate in Puka, and RB that’s played surprisingly well coming off of IR next week and expected to be fully healthy. Not to mention one of the best DTs of all time on the other side of the ball. Would not be shocked to see them make the wild card if they get hot
