Weird takeaway from that game tbh. Hurts looks meh while Mahomes still looks as good as usual with zero help from the supporting cast

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Mvp shouldn’t be a qb this year. If they give it to a qb on an off year then they’re just destroying the award imo. Why would hurts be an mvp? What has he done better than even AJ brown or Tyreek hill? What he has a lot of 1 yard rushing TDs? Coty award is a joke, comeback is a joke, mvp is a joke.

Man Hurts gets no respect with football fans outside Philly. It’s sad.

Hurts has 13 consecutive wins against teams with winning records, breaking a tie with Peyton Manning and Vinny Testaverde for the most in NFL history.

Since the stat was first tracked in 1991, Hurts is the only quarterback with five straight victories when his team trails by double digits (streak at seven). Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, and Vinny Testaverde each have four straight wins when their team trails by 10-plus points -- tied for second on the all-time list.

Hurts has a .389 win percentage when trailing by 10-plus points, the second-best mark in the Super Bowl era (Patrick Mahomes is first with .560). Hurts is 8-11 when trailing by 10-plus points in his career, having a better win percentage than Tom Brady (.378) and Joe Montana (.370) -- third and fourth people on the list.

What Hurts is accomplishing is unprecedented, as he's 26-2 in his last 28 starts. The Eagled are 9-1 in consecutive seasons for the first time in franchise history as a result.

He jumps to favorite after that performance? Really?

What a joke of an award

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Just make it the "Best QB Award" for the love of god.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Give it to CMC, you cowards.

Trying not to be a homer here but the only reason it isn’t near unanimous that Purdy is thus far the MVP is the assumption he will come down to earth. Or maybe the wrong assumption that he’s just throwing short screen passes and his ball carriers are doing the rest. The reality is Purdy leads in all efficiency stats and near the top in most bulk stats while winning most games comfortably and playing ball control clock killing offense more than most other QB’s. His average length of throw is the furthest, and yards per attempt and completion are both absolutely bonkers and greater than most MVP QB seasons. Yes he has an incredible supporting cast, but the QB’s before him had them and weren’t playing this great.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I would love Purdy to get it but if we wanna be real? If QBs have to win, and CJ Stroud continues to play pretty well overall, he deserves it.

Otherwise I'd give it to Garrett or CMC. Maybe Garett edges him out because CMC missed a TD on the Jags game that broke the streak.

Tua with better stats than both just scratching his head at these media narratives all year.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Really wish the Chargers could win some games, Herbert would be talked about right?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

If Jalen Hurts wins it, it will be the least deserved MVP of all time.

90% niners fans whining in this chat lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I may not like the guy, but Tyreek has been playing on a different level from everyone else. I feel like he should be the front runner right now.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Was Mahomes the front runner?

I mean it's not like he's having an especially great seasons. He's on pace to have the fewest TDs and yards with the most INTs of his career. In fact I'd say he's having a slightly worse season than Dak Prescott who don't think is playing at an MVP caliber.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Is that a joke?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

what has this guy done this season to deserve mvp when he's probably the most bailed out qb I've ever seen.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Sad thing is that Mahomes outplayed Hurts by a significant margin ... but KC's receivers just sucked like a black hole.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Can people who vote on mvp make bets on who wins mvp?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

CMC, Garrett, Hill are all viable non-QB candidates. And could argue have been the most valuable for each team.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

But they're in opposite conferences...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Did he really “up” mahomes though? He had 109 yards and a pick midway through the 4th.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Hate the narrative of just the QB on the best team should win it

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I’m a rabid eagles homer but even I can see that he shouldn’t be considered the MVP. He’s not even the best player on our offense this year.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Crazy to think we’re on the final half of the regular season games. Time flies.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

MVP should go to a player have a great season. No QB is having a great season. Give it to someone else. Live a little.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Stroud, Tyreek and CMC should be top 3 realistically. Hurts has been good but not MVP level.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly this year's mvp shouldn't even be a QB, there are so many other players in other positions carrying their teams.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

how the fuck

HOW? DO these people watch the actual games? He had 150 yards, and interception and a rushing touchdown. What the actual fuck are we talking about. Yes, those were the two superbowl teams. They also both played like absolute ass offensively and neither quarterback was even remotely impressive

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I love hurts but no way. I feel like it should go to a defensive player for once this year

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

If there's any season a defensive player deserves it this is the one. Mahomes has had a stinker game with no TDs and generally has struggled to get numbers with a rather weak receiving core. Hurts has been turnover prone and while clutch has also made some extremely costly mistakes even though we've miraculously managed to come out with the win anyway consistently somehow. Those are the best two QB options? What about Miles Garrett leading a defense which is carrying a sorry ass offense? Can we just officially make it a QB award at this point?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Mahomes stock should have gone through the roof if anyone watched the game last night…

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Josh Allen has 5 more TDs and 3 more turnovers. His odds aren’t even close though because his team is broken.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Hurts didn’t even play amazing last night? They’re essentially saying the award is going to go to the QB with the best record.

Of all years as well considering no QB has had a stand out great year that at least makes it hard to fully argue against.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Too bad bc if Kelse doesn’t fumble and MVS catches that ball or even if KC doesn’t have the drops in last night and the lions game Mahomes would have 1 less pick 6 and 3 more TDs

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

If the season ended now, my vote would be that no one gets MVP.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

People get mad about betting markets for no real reason. He’s the QB of the team with the best record in the league. There is no obvious QB candidate and the non QB field is muddy. The MVP won’t be decided until the last 6 week anyway, as it is every year

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

No one has been great this season and hurts is leading the team with the best record, it’s more of a winner by default

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Imo it’s Tua as of right now. The Dolphins offense has put up insane numbers passing and rushing this season with him fully healthy, and his numbers are right up there with the other top QBs.

He’s been the literal definition of valuable to their success when you compare it to what they looked like without him last year.
