If the QB performance this season has been ripe, it’s time to give it to a player who is not a QB. Do it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

How is it not CMC?!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Hurts didn’t look good that game though. That was all Chiefs pass catchers dropping everything and Eagles D.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I also hate this cause obviously people will swing the opposite way and discredit Hurts because of how ridiculous the claim that he's MVP is.

Hurts hasn't been playing bad, among QBs I think he'd be my second or third guy this year. His performance against the Chiefs also wasn't *bad* it was just meh. But he's going to get a lot of negativity his way cause of this kind of ridiculous line.

I really hope either one QB really steps it up these last weeks and wins justifiably, or another non-QB player gets it, cause even if my guy gets a cool trophy, the precedent set is so awful.

Imo for me it’s Purdy>Tua=Stroud>CMC>Tyreek.

The 3 qbs are all high/leading the league in multiple statistics and CMC and Tyreek are having ridiculous seasons.

Put purdy and tua so high because their stats are good but they could’ve been even better when you consider that they’ve both been benched multiple times with a lot of time left in the game.

As an Eagles fan, I think Jason Kelce should be this year's MVP.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I've seen some people argue against Garrett winning by comparing him to Watt's 2014 season. If its not immediately obvious why this is silly it's compounded by the fact that no one is going to coming anywhere close to a prime Rodgers 38 TD 5 INT 16 game season. Regardless of who you feel should have won MVP in 2014 we need to stop pretending that a defensive player should have to out do JJ Watt to win MVP, they need to out do the players of THEIR respective season and that is all that is relevant.

This is finally Drew Brees' year

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Should Mahomes be penalized for his wrs dropping balls? He was magnitudes better than Hurts who had a pedestrian night at best

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Imo it should be CMC if he keeps it up.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This thread has been refreshing. I came in assuming people would seriously be slobbing his knob after a year where he’s looked above average.

No QB besides maybe CJ would be worthy of the award if the season ended today, CMC and Tyreek on the offensive side, Myles Garrett on the defensive side should be the only 3 in the discussion

he hasn’t even been the best QB this year, he’s just on the best team

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Keep the main thing the main thing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Man that speaks volumes that Jalen Hurts is front runner for MVP, considering his season hasn’t been what I would call MVP caliber. Such a weak year.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nah Hurts is not an MVP, as much as I wish he was. I like him a lot and am glad to have him as our qb, but when it comes to sheer and raw talent nobody beats Mahomes. He just looks worse because of his WR's.

There is no way the MVP for this year should be a QB

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

If CMC finishes on the pace he's at, given the current down year as far as QBs and numbers, and a QB still gets it; the award would lose pretty much all meaning.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

He made one good throw all game and barely had 150 yards. I’m not even convinced he is the best Jalen on his team if you takeout position value. Purdy, CJ stroud, Tua, Lamar, CMC, Hill, TJ watt, miles Garrett, Mahomes, Dak, have all played better than him this year. He had a great Super Bowl and has been winning a lot of tough games with his defense but MVP is crazy. Also the Purdy disrespect is unreal he is having a historical good year and is only a concussion and a 40 yard missed kick away from a better record than the eagles. He leads the NFL in yards per attempt air yards an attempt TD’s per attempt QBR, passing rating completion percentage. Yards and TD’s per drive he is on the field. He is bottom 3 in turnover top 5 in TD’s 6th in yards despite the 9ers being 32 in passing attempts. Only two players all time had a season with more yards an attempt both won MVP as did the the one right below him in the stat.

Nfl needs an award for just qbs like the Cy young in baseball

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

How, after that performance, does either of them rank as an MVP front runner?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Just make a fucking separate QB award. Seriously. QB play this season should not even be considered for the MVP. Not a single guy has carried or even been consistent. Jalen and Purdy both have the most stacked teams around them and are in the conversation??

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Can someone explain to me why the most valuable players are the only ones getting the most valuable player award it makes no sense to me

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

If Mahomes or Hurts gets MVP and they don’t somehow have a ridiculous ass half of the season then it truly will be a QB of the Year award at this point and discussions about it should hold the same weight as OPOY and DPOY.

I will take Stroud over Mahomes and Hurts for MVP right now but that will never happen since he’s a rookie.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'd honestly be interested to see if anybody outside of QB can win it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Dumbest award in all of sports. None of the QBs deserve it except for maybe Stroud, but there’s at least 4 other players who should have it ahead of him.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Hurts is a great QB, but how in the hell is he leading the MVP race with a 15 TD - 9 INT stat line

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The Tush Push is the MVP

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This is the year to give a non-QB MVP but they won't do it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

If Myles keeps this pace, he should be a lock for DPOY and be a top 3 MVP candidate imo

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

They have Hurts and Mahomes at 1 and 2? These guys are not having MVP years. Why not look at someone else who's popping off this year? Feel bad for Kirk. He was looking like the MVP for awhile. My biased pick is Purdy. Has better stats than both these guys. Tua should also be in the convo

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

LOL for what? QB sneaks?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Hurts is playing nowhere near at an MVP level. That's so ridiculous lmao

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Hurts leads the league in interceptions and lost fumbles. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!!

He may be the best player on the best team, but this would be an unusually weak pick. Even among QBs, he's only 10th in passer rating, 6th in QBR, and doesn't have an edge with volume. Stats obviously aren't everything but pretty much every MVP in history has had a reasonable stats-based argument for why they're the best.

Vegas agrees with me not you, so yea...
