This album was such a departure for sepultura
In a good or bad way?
I liked older sepultura and their sound here. It was just so different. I didn't follow sepultura or Soulfly after they separated though.
The guy who engineered it also worked with Korn and basically gave Sepultura the same sound. Everyone was going Nu-metal at the time.
Oh I remember the nümetal craze
Thankfully it was just a phase. Most of it was absolutely shit.
If you were to buy 2 Sepultura albums, excluding this one, which 2 would you pick?
Beneath and Arise.
Favourites are usually what you grew up with, but these two are also where the Venn diagram of 'energy' and 'production values' overlap for Seps.
Honestly, this is the only Sepultura song I ever heard
