From what I understand, Messi refused to play until police stopped beating Argentinian fans with batons and Rodrygo got pissy and started calling him a coward for it?

Not sure what his dad’s upset about. Maybe he should teach his son to keep his mouth shut instead of needlessly talking nonsense.

Why is it any time Messi or Ronald are involved in even the tiniest of scenarios it has to get overblown and turned into some massive controversy with everything getting overanalysed with microscopes. It's so annoying.

Messi might be a great role model ever sometimesand the best ever , but just as Ronaldo he has his ego too, there are times where he is in the wrong , you can’t deny that

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Its not that he isnt a saint for me, its the fact if this was Ronaldo in these exact 2 picture, social media reaction would be totally different. ESPN would probably have a video by now with the clowns of the studio talking about it and everything

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Can’t believe Rodrygo went father!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Absolutely true. Don’t know why Messi gets this good boy image

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Rodrygo is an absolute wanker for calling them cowards but this is being so overblown

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I’m very confused, the only Rodrigo Goes I know is the influencer

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Did the father ask what his son said?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Brazilian players have become fuckin unlikable turds. Young cocky pussies.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe first tell your kid to work on his game instead of talking shit to the greatest player of all time...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (17 children)

So fans are getting beat up on the stands, Argentinian players make a stance and leave the field and get called cowards by the likes of Rodrygo and somehow Messi is the villain for calling him up.

Thiee new Brazilian players are extremly unlikable

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The entire Argentinian squad is unlikeable

They are a bunch of playboys with no empathy

You know that Argentina was beating the shit out of us the whole match like they always do.

And Messi is always portraid as this nice guy but people who watch the matches know that he is not that nice.

Argentinians are the worst out of all the south american teams to face because they hit you and them pretend that nothing happens.

We, from South America know how these guys behave on and off the pitch.

As for the police beating up argentinians, its terrible but they beat brazilians much worse, its Brazil nothing to do with beating up other fans.

And remember, there were several fights between both sides before the police did anything.

I am not sure what his dad is trying to do here at all. Surely he is defending his son, but this was just one of the many arguments between players that happen every game or so.

I mean you could make a poor argument for Rodrygo that he might have not realise how terrible the cops were acting at that time, but after the game there is no way his father didn't see bleeding and comatose fans leaving the stadium on stretchers.

They are both on the wrong here and anyone who can't see that is seriously biased.

Rodrygo should see what is going on in the stands. You can blame his age for being naive but at the end of the day what he said was wrong. A football game is never bigger than real situations going around. Its the same situation with Vini getting racially abused. No player should be complaining if the match is paused. He's being a shitty human being here.

On the other hand, Messi is fucking 36 year old and the way he grabs people is stupid and should be facing a couple of games suspension. And it's also up to him as the senior player and leader on the pitch to explain to someone ~15 years younger about the situation and how he should be acting.

The fact that Messi was even talking about how he's the champion and how he won it there should show anyone that he is acting like a baby. He's supposed to be a captain but his actions on the pitch looked like a school bully especially with De Paul being his bodyguard waiting to jerk him off the first second he got.

There are shorter ways to say you’ve never played football

Lol the Messi cockriding on here is insane.

He’s the best player of all time. He’s not a saint as much as some of you act like it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What do u mean by saint? Rodrygo called them cowards because didnt want to play because of brazilian power abuse.. u wanted messi to shut up? lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I mean he consistently shuts up and plays when Argentina racially abuses him…. It’s not right to defend the Brazilian police but idk how people are overlooking that important fact in whatever this mess is.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This mess was all about brazilian police abuse.

The racism happened after the match in his social networks

Rodrygo called Messi a "coward" for standing up to his people. Yet calling him out for being wrong means cockriding Messi? Are you really that fucking dumb?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

How the post is formulated is funny. Rodrygo's father ATTACKS Messi. ATTACKS if this is an attack what Messi has done last few games is a crime. Messi dickriding is real here.

Yet another reason why you should keep your parents from social media, especially if you’re a famous person.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (4 children)

always wonder why family members of football players/celeberties feel the need to spew nonsense on social media

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

It’s the classic soccer mom/dad trope. Same shit happened with Gio Reyna and his parents.

Am I crazy or does this situation feel incredibly overblown? At the end of the day, it was two players talking shit, and it seems like people are making it out like some incredibly violent interaction occurred.

Also, maybe people in this sub haven't gotten over the Messi vs Ronaldo bullshit, but it was Rodrygo talking shit after the Argentinian national team to their credit tried deescalating the situation. Then they lost the fucking game to Argentina. I fail to see how this situation is embarrassing to Messi in any way. Unless you think Messi is some morally-just angel with the temperament of a preschool teacher, his response seems pretty normal in comparison to other players

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

It actually makes me like Messi more. I like to see people be passionate and fight for their country.

I think most people do treat Messi that way though.

What people fail to mention here is that (non surprisingly) argentinians are harassing Rodrygo with racism ever since the game.

Rodrygo's father can go eat shit and teach his son some values, he had no rights to call Argentinian cowards for defending their people.
