I can almost guarantee muskrat incentivized them to do his bidding with outrageous amounts of money. They probably don't have to worry about working after this. :/

Turns out the party of "nothing will fundamentally change" didn't need to do anything to keep their promise. Even when they tried, Republicans masquerading as Democrats stopped them until Republicans won the house and stopped everything.

Then this chucklefuck wins and says "fuck norms, fuck the law, fuck everyone who isn't rich. I do what I want." and Republicans just nod while fox news chants about how he's "killing it." Real defenders of the Constitution, those folks...

Of fucking course not. They're Republican propagandists, why would they ever face consequences?

It’s as if we’re being governed by insane stupid children.

It's ok, it only seems that way because it is.

No, but it at least prevents the appearance of a "mandate." Trump claims that he not only won the popular vote but also the electoral college so that means we're all totally cool with whatever he wants to do whatsoever.

They have less of an argument if more people voted against him, but our stupid system still gave him power.

Instead we have "Now listen, you rich people, cheer and dance because of the greater wealth that will be coming to you. Your wealth has fattened, and gold adorns your clothes. Your gold and silver is polished by an army of tongues of bootlickers. Their saliva testifies to your greatness, you will eat the flesh of the finest beasts. You have and will continue to hoard wealth as is Good™ to do. Look! The wages you fail to pay the workers who built your empire are justified, they are just immigrants and liberals. The cries of the workers are of silent text on screens, read by the unimportant, the powerless. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence and will continue to do so. You have fattened yourself on another day of your joy. You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who you've made to oppose one another, and laughed at their suffering. Good show."

Propaganda is also really effective. Most people think this is just another annoying trump term. Most maga think he's absolutely killing it, being the best president ever.

No one but a small minority recognize the road we're on and I'm unfortunately pretty damn sure no one will recognize it until it's wayyyyyyyyyyy too late.

"she argues DEI initiatives violate anti-discrimination laws."

Up is down, wrong is right, black is white.

God I hate this country

It's not even a ranked thing, but it's why I'm sticking to my friend group or solo for monster hunter wilds.

"YOU ARENT RUNNING META!? IM OUT!" ...thanks for forcing the monster to be scaled for multiplayer now that I have to solo it...

I'm no economist but I think anything after 1billion should stop being considered "property" of the CEO/owner that is able to be monetized and should have some legal differentiation that defines it as the sole property of the corporation for purposes of defining ownership.

Everyone argues that you can't force a billionaire to have to liquidate their wealth (stocks) because it will tank the company, even though they can leverage their stocks to fund their life, so they shouldn't be allowed to own that kind of wealth to begin with. The difference after 1billion should be considered a type of "ownership token" to keep the ownership of a company in the hands of the person that made the company/runs it until they decide to pass the ownership on to someone else.

"Republicans were asked for comment about the protests and have said: lol, we have all the power. I don't give a fuck what these people are mad about. Be mad, we're just going to label you all antifa terrorists soon."

"Democratic 'leaders' who were asked how they hoped to protect the American people replied: lol, Republicans have all the power. They dont give a fuck what we're mad about. We're going to keep bitching publicly until we all get arrested for being antifa terrorists."

25 minute exposure of NGC 2264 taken with a seestar s50. Testing the new denoise function added in the most resent seestar firmware update.

No further post processing so colors seem to be a bit off as a result of the denoise feature, but otherwise an amazing result as most images from the seestar s50 contain a lot of RGB noise!

Hey Lemmy! Time to do some digging!

I was sent a link from a friend about some Totally Cool™ guy who has close ties to JD Vance: Curtis Yarvin. Anyone aware of this guy and his desires? I won't put the link in here as my last post was removed because of it, but a comment within the thread is copied below.

Apparently Japanese media covered the story as was posted to Reddit, but there doesn't seem to be too much talk of this in the US.

From a comment in the reddit discussion: “Curtis Yarvin is a far-right ‘intellectual’ that wants to end democracy and install what I can only really describe as cyberpunk feudalism. He’s suggested turning the United States into a patchwork of corporate fiefdoms ruled with absolute impunity by CEOs, as well as putting mandatory ankle monitors on all unemployed and poor people. This sounds like a joke, but I’m serious. JD Vance is not just a fan of him intellectually, but also a personal friend. As someone who has known about Yarvin for several years, it’s been really concerning seeing how he could potentially become a Rasputin-like figure in the event of a Trump victory. Beyond this, Yarvin has also spent many years advocating for what sounds eerily like Project 2025.”

For those familiar with Star Citizen lore, he apparently wants to turn the US into the Stanton system “lol” …
