I don't think this is a particularly good take. Inclusivity IS much more important today than it was to people even 10 years ago. The real issue is that being woke is GOOD! It's crazy that people have twisted it around, like shutting our eyes to the world's problems (being "asleep") is somehow the right way to be.

The geographical argument for Russia wanting to take Ukraine is nonsense BECAUSE of the nuclear threat. Having a physical buffer zone or whatever is complete nonsense in an era where anyone who poses a real existential threat can simply be nuked out of existence and start the apocalypse. A few thousand kms of extra land does exactly zilch to change the calculus for the West starting a war with Russia. Russia wants Ukraine because it wants to make more money, and no other reason.

Didn't he get caught using alt accounts to increase his visibility by upvoting his own posts and downvoting others? I'm sure he'd love the Lemmy instance system, it's next to impossible to detect vote manipulation here

yeah i mean, theres no way lol. even if the tech gets here that quickly there's 0% chance prices come down significantly on lower capacity drives. these'll be at least $500 and possibly far far more

It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but wasn't the woman in charge of the humans pretty dang villainous? She had a motive, sure, but was pretty unreasonable in the face of evidence she was doing harm to everyone

Wouldn't it be better to not record them in the first place instead of encrypting them?

I mean, it's Valve. But it will be funny when #saveTF2 happens for the third time next year, and Valve does their now-yearly ban wave again and everyone repeats wondering if the problem is solved.

I enjoy the idea that some shitass mason hated whatever king hired him, built all the stairs as quickly and poorly as possible, and then to save his ass later had to be all "oh hmm yes the stairs? That's a feature actually" and somehow it winds up catching on

If "shouted in Klingon" is redundant, then is "said in Klingon" an oxymoron?

Weird to segue directly from arguing that cluster munitions are illegal into claiming that the legality of weapons doesn't matter, but okay
