A webinar about the state targeting anti-genocide protesters with charges and jail time while finding underhanded ways to sanction pro-Palestine speech. BCCLA lawyer Aislin Jackson and author Yves Engler discuss the sharp rise in anti-democratic tactics pursued by the state to crackdown on Palestinian advocates.

"B.C.’s main response to the tariff threat from the United States so far is a vague plan to “expedite” 18 energy and mining projects — a commitment reiterated in the throne speech, which said the province will “speed up permitting and regulatory approvals” for major resource and energy projects."

I don't have time to teach you media literacy. Obviously you're going to compare resources, look for primary sources first of all and secondary sources etc. Ask these questions, could the person who sent the pagers to Lebanon know who's hands they would ultimately end up in and whose hands they were in when they were detonated?

There were at least two children murdered so not very targeted. In addition what if one of the pages had gone off on an airplane, or if someone were driving a car. This is simply terrorism.

several US officials told The New York Times this week that Netanyahu is "seeking to run out the clock until the American election" to secure a ceasefire deal that would release the remaining captives held in Gaza.

The officials also suggested that Netanyahu might face less pressure to make concessions for an agreement if Republican nominee and former US President Donald Trump wins the presidential election in November.

To believe that Biden and Harris push for a real ceasefire is to accept the fantasy that they can be advocates for peace when they are already the primary enablers of genocide.

I think it is imperative that she win the election. It's not hyperbole when I say that a second Trump term could result in the end of organized human survival. Having said that I don't believe she will be any better than Biden. When I post things critical of Kamala Harris it's because I recognize how much work is needed in order to force her administration to be better than her predecessor.
