You might try micro; it has similar keybindings to Gedit, and is in the Termux repository.

I'd use the Linux virtual console a lot more if it had better Unicode support. fbterm fixes that issue, but introduces others relating to color handling. In the end, I often find myself using a full-screen, 80-column Cool Retro Term under Sway.

Or if your DHCP server hands out static IP addresses based on MAC. It would be kinda good for there to be a default-off "This is a trusted network" check box, which turns off the privacy preserving settings that can break things.
