If you have plans to support other platforms eventually within the app, maybe don't tie its identity down to Lemmy.

Settings/post history/toggle mark as read to off. Force close and restart the app and that may solve your issue. The ones previously marked as read may still show up darker, but as you continue on your way posts should stay the same colour.
Agreed that all reddit features (multireddit, gilded, awards etc) and all mention of reddit in settings needs purging ASAP.
