Thanks, it's quite similar to painting miniatures. I tend to block in the lighter tones and then gradually add shading.

Cheers, its great fun and a fantastic opportunity to really pore over some truly fantastic art. I highly recommend it, even if there isn't a tiny person nagging you to do it.

Have a look through some of the early 40k rulebooks, there is tons of black and white line art in them as it was much easier and cheaper to print.

I have done a bunch of colouring in with them when the wee one has told me to colour in space marines whilst they are working away in their colouring books.

It's fairly easy to find PDFs online, then you just need to crop the images and print them out.

If anyone is interested in printing this off for themselves it is a supportless FDM print available on my Cults and MMF pages.

There is only one way to find out, I hope to see lots of happy little tanks running around soon

Cheers, I'm doing a bit of that with the grass around the base of this beast at the moment.

This is a FDM friendly 3D print, available on Cults3D and MyMiniFactory if anyone is interested in making one for themselves

I'm still waiting for it to clear the MMF QA process, it should be up there in the next couple of days.

Thanks, it's for my Genestealer Cult so wanted to do an appropriate scheme.

Haha, no those are some Genestealer Cult proxies from Old School Miniatures, they are up on kickstarter just now.

I've uploaded it on Cults and MyMiniFactory for free (it may take a couple of days to clear MyMiniFactory's QA process BTW).

Cheers, I use the Vallejo's golden olive. It really pops.

I'm really happy with the colours

Cheers, I think it might be my only vibe when it comes to miniature painting 😂

Hopefully I'll get a few more finished later this week.

None of them are.

The figures in the original post are from a kickstarter coming out later in the year, I don't have anything to do with it myself but I was lucky enough to get a set of the early casts.

The tank is one of my own designs that I 3D printed, I've uploaded it to Cults 3D https://cults3d.com/en/users/Doctor-Spork/3d-models

The other fully painted ones I posted in the comments are from a couple of places. The big fell with the sword is from L72 Miniatures https://l72smetalminiaturesmusings.wordpress.com/ and the other two are tech cultists from Checkpoint Miniatures https://www.checkpointminiatures.co.uk/shop/ftw13-tech-cultists-with-leader/

To add to this I have the patriarch and landspeeder from L72 Miniatures, a bunch more of the tech cultists to use a brood brothers, a magus from Hybrid Miniatures, the land raider proxy I designed and 3D printed and a scratch built limo that I am building from a toy car.

This was meant to be a dozen figures and a limo for playing skirmish games with because my wife bought me some of the tech cultists, but as these things often do the scope of this project has grown arms and legs. Which is sort of appropriate for a Genestealer Cult I suppose.

They're a purestrain proxy from Hybrid Miniatures, I think it's inspired on the original art work for genestealers in the Rogue Trader rulebook. I'm attempting to make the whole army from non GW miniatures.

They are really nice models, I've got another five of them to paint at some point.

Cheers, these were the first ones i finished. So in theory they should look something like this when I am done.

If anyone wants to try printing one for themselves I've uploaded it to Cults3D https://cults3d.com/en/users/Doctor-Spork/3d-models

Painting my space wizard was a fun little distraction, but genestealers don't paint themselves.

I've got my infantry base coated so it's time to give them a good wash.

And I've got a little squat that Chris at Ontos Games gave me at BOYL for when I'm sick of batch painting cultists.

Having thought I would be chasing this forever due to the fact I didn't want to pay £50-100 for one I managed to grab this for a tenner.

Even better, when it arrived it appears to be in near mint condition. Oh happy days!
