The air in the small, cozy studio hummed with anticipation. Yokarion, a fluffy, white dragon with a perpetually almost blushing muzzle, moves to his knees, his large, blue eyes fixed on the doorway. He’d been told to expect someone… big. Very big.

Then, the door swung open with a resounding thump, and Solara Ignis strode in.

Ignis was a magnificent sight. He was a colossal dragon, scales shimmering like molten gold and ruby. His size alone filled the room, and his presence radiated a raw, primal power tempered by a surprisingly gentle demeanor.

“Well, well, well” Ignis boomed, his deep dominant voice a low rumble that vibrated through the floor. “This must be the little one.”

Yokarion, despite his initial nervousness, couldn’t help but stare. He was paralyzed by the beauty and size of the dragon.

Ignis knelt with surprising grace, lowering himself until his massive form was level with Yokarion’s. He extended a large, clawed hand, gently scooping up his muzzle with a careful grip. It was a surprisingly delicate gesture considering the size of his hand.

“You know,” Ignis said, his voice softening slightly as he held his muzzle, “You’re a good derg.”

Yokarion, suddenly feeling overwhelmingly adorable, let out a tiny squeak. “I… I am?”

Ignis chuckled, a warm, golden sound. “Indeed, you are. A very good and cute furball. You have a lovely muzzle. Perfectly fluffy chest and playful tail. You’re a good boy. Don’t you agree?”

Yokarion nodded vigorously, burying his face in Ignis hand. “I am! I am! I’m a good boy!”

Solara Ignis smiled, a genuine, radiant expression that lit up his entire face. “See? I knew it. Now, tell me, little derg, what do you enjoy doing alone with big dragon like me?~”

Oh hi, I didn't realize you were interested in starting a realfurryhours community. I added you as a mod to the original and if you'd like I can transfer it to you since its URL is better and doesn't have underscores.

Got a lil' too silly

it was just the name and the fact it was commerical.

Yeah it's because names can be Trademarked, and in the case of Hobbits, that is Trademarked, and the holders are currently paying and fighting to retain their Trademark.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

in the u.s, as long as you aren’t using it commercially, at least

No, this is still wrong, a species cannot be copyrighted no ifs, ands, or buts. Copyright can only apply to specific characters. A species is way too nebulous of an idea to copyright. They can be trademarked but that is expensive and many of these artists don't do it and won't fight to retain it. You are allowed to create characters of closed species and sell them just as you would any other piece of intellectual property, and the only thing the creators of the species can do is whine, scream, and make petty meaningless threats. Which is what they have done.

If you do wish to sell them though you should disclose that said Character isn't official, so people are aware before buying it, and don't think you are trying to scam them.

(I mean besides that I’m for the abolition of copyright, but just purely talking about what’s allowed in law as of current)

I agree with you. I'm all for copyright abolition. But you are a bit wrong about what is currently allowed. The reality is much looser than you might think it is.

By the way, shameless plug. I have a community called [email protected], and we do allow unofficial Protogens, and Primagens there (Yes Synths too), if that seems interesting to you or you have related art (or memes) you'd like to share there, I encourage people to check it out.

Not only that, Species legally can't be copyrighted, it's too broad an idea. The name can be Trademarked, but most of the artists out there aren't willing to cough up the money to do so nor continue fighting to maintain said Trademark. Others were just outright denied copyright and trademark in those areas. Like Malice-Risu, the creator of Primagens, who was denied copyright and Trademark for the species.

Nice I'll probably use it for memes if I post them here first (I crosspost a lot).

Would also be cool if we had one for the other 196 community too but I don't know how to make the Circle text on Pinta.

Was an issue where the Link from the mastodon post changed. I've edited the posts to reflect the change.

Aren't they electrically the same? CCS Level 1 is 120v at 12-16A. All the CCS standard does is provide the signaling to make it safer and offer an emergency cut-off in case of overloading so you aren't relying on the breaker alone.

I guess since we can't see it we don't exactly know if they use CCS since the other connector isn't visible. Seems logical that they would or use something similar, since it's safer than drawing the AC directly with no protection.

He should be using CCS Level 2 at 240v on one of the bigger outlets, Level 1 will be painfully slow to charge.

Thailand too, also mexico and parts of south America.

No, don't force a dragon to eat her, she'll taste horrible and probably make them sick.

I agree with this post, even if I am a little biased.
