is it alive?

May want to put it in a box to help keep it safe from predators, possibly call a rescue if you have one near you. I'm not sure it's capable of find it's own way back, but the rescue peeps might have a better idea.

handle it with gloves and wash your hands very well immediately, either way. (leather gardener's gloves. when washing your hands, make sure to catch your thumb and go up your arms.)

edit: may be able find a rescue here

Pretty sure the CIA experimented with using bees to kill Fidel Castro.

They pretty much tried everything else....

Arrest everyone for corruption, too.

They won’t be able to handle a MN winter.

Even the best gps isn’t accurate enough to know what lane you’re in (or on the shoulders,)

Remove lane markings (ie snow coverage) and bad visibility by both the LIDAR and daylight in any serious snowfall, and you have a recipe for cars going “weeee!” Into the ditch.

(Granted that first snow usually has a shocking number of cars going into the ditch anyway. Usually people learn their lesson, though.)

LA is the noob zone for self driving.

That’s not a reasonable suspicion of a crime.

Maybe being the guy that maybe did a crime isn’t good enough.

More to the point, being undocumented isn’t generally a crime- it’s a civil offense. The majority of people are either asylum seekers or people who’ve overstayed visas, rather than entering illegally.

Entering illegally is a misdemeanor, but over staying is not.

It’s impossible for the average American to be that well informed.

Let’s do a little exercise. List the legal status of abortion in every state. Weed? Gas leaf blowers? Healthcare.

I can’t. I doubt there’s many who can.

Further, “Switzerland does it” is * not* a very good argument. On the practicality side of it, the US is far, far more comparable to the entire EU in population and land area than we are to any given member state.

In the US, it would become a tool for special interests to advance unpopular agendas by bypassing normal representation, relying on the inability of normal Americans to actually read everything.

This is why we have representatives in the first place.

Depends on what it is. Silicon carbide is “just” carbon and silicon. There’s other kinds like zirconium which isn’t.

Also, the cheaper “ceramic” pans aren’t actually ceramic in the engineering sense. They’re more like ceramic powder held in some kinda binder and that binder is probably very not good for you.

The fact that companies like green pan won’t say what their “ceramic” actually is says a lot about the matter.

the R. Pi is kinda that. it's not really a phone, but Raspbian is a fork of debian. Plenty you can do with it if you want.

The problem is that "full desktop OSes" expect full desktop peripherals (key board and mouse) and get clunky if you try to have something like a touch screen instead. Which is a large part of why win 8 was as bad as it was- they wanted a "seamless" OS for their phones and what they found was... NOPE.

Sure laptops frequently now have touch-screen monitors, but you still have the KBM input too.

I kinda disagree. The biggest problem here is that there are far too many special interests that would submit shit nobody else agrees with, but might get passed because nobody has the time to keep up on all the potential things and look into what they actually mean.

Imagine if you will some evangelical group trying to ban apple pies because a bunch of their kids managed to get their hands on a copy of american pie. Give the referendum some bland name like "protecting our kids"... then lie about what's in the bill.

Okay, it's a silly premise, but imagine all the special interests groups suddenly crafting law, lying about what the laws would be, flooding the zone with their bullshit and seeing what sticks.

Finally got him! (lemmy.world)

I’ve been getting trolled most the year by a GHO- they’d set up above my window and hoot until I went outside to try and get a picture.

Eventually set up a webcam… jerk used it for a perch (and flew in and off from behind… all it saw were its talons…)

Whelp. It’s grainy. But I finally got ‘em.

(Very) Early Christmas Day. There was at least four others calling out, maybe 5-6, some were distant, so they were too bothered to hide from me.
