Modern is cheerleading as a sport, with competitions, leagues, professional predators, trophies. etc.

Conventional cheerleading is just doing it to cheer on a team.

I don't think the point is whether it's actually an offensive act or not in general terms, it's "this is the technical definition they will weasel out on". Which is almost certainly true - refueling is not inherently offensive.

But I am wondering now, do people still see people like me and assume we are Chavs?

Do you also wear ostentatious jewellery and act aggressively towards people in public? If not, then no.

If so, maybe if they're of a certain age that will be the word that comes to mind. Probably not if they're younger - but they might think you're a dickhead for acting like that.

As an Australian, may I say, you royally fucked up on that one.

I take exception to that. The law which allowed for the referendum required Royal Assent, but that is the same law which would have allowed for the implementation of preferential voting. It was the statutory repealing of that law where things really went bad.

I would say we statutorily fucked it up.

ICE got paid a 4 year budget upfront, which they are allowed to roll over. So they're not getting paid, they just have a reserve several times the size of their annual budget.

I simply stated that I did not agree with some things.

No you didn't. You bluntly stated that some things were not true. You then followed it up with a sarcastic comment.

Instead, he was upset by my comment and chose to belittle me. And I don't take that shit.

If you're not aware that sarcasm is combative in this context, why were you using it? And if you are aware, then surely the intention was to upset?

I think the people of the UK should take a long, hard look at how the situation has evolved in the US and decide if they want to change their system to avoid having only two parties dominate the political climate.

There are currently 5 parties vying for position here, but your point is still generally true. Hopefully with the rise of smaller parties, we might start to see a move towards a more proportional system, but I'm not holding my breath.

Sure. But is billions on something we already have (but need the USA to help maintain) really the best use of defence spending? Because I bet there are a hundred other areas in defence where disentangling ourselves from the USA would be wise.

but America looses wars all the time.

Also true.

Do I believe we should funnel billions of pounds of our money into the pockets of arms manufacturers, just so we can have independent control of a weapon whose entire point is to never be fired?

Sure, why not? But can we please sort out some of the more important shit first?

Also: murder hundreds of Iranians who weren't schoolgirls.

Thing is, you're arguing with someone who chose to call themself "the_crotch". This is not someone who appreciates subtlety.

I wonder how many levels of remove are needed before the police will actually leave you alone.

"I support people who support people who support the Palestine Action hunger strikers' mums"

"I explicitly oppose all actions of Palestine Action, but support every one of their members on a purely personal level"

"I support Palestine Action if the police officer who arrests me is a wanker, otherwise I don't"

"Sometimes I support Palestine Action, but only when there are no people under the age of 80 within 50 metres of me"

As well as discussing how the Greens won't be able to deliver on their promises, he also talks about why Labour are going to raise tax, despite promising not to, and how great ID cards are going to be, despite the fact that ID cards were not on the manifesto.
