Tbh, I didn't really even think about that part of the comment as I didn't know what it meant.

I guess you both mean "git" as opposed to "github". I don't do a lot of git-based work (though I happen to be right now) and hadn't thought of the possibility of using anything other than bitbucket or github.

In general are there many hosts that do websites and git hosting?

I would be very surprised if there aren't a ton of calls happening right now between Trudeau and other world leaders.

Even if it isn't about simultaneous tariffs, we need to line up allies and trade partners. Repairing relations with India and China could be top priorities. I expect more announcements over the next 48 hours...

I use zenutech.ca

My usage is relatively simple/low and I haven't really had much to compare it with, but it's been fine for me.

“People say ‘Well, this could be just a short-term thing,’ and maybe it is, but it also could be a long-term, structural thing,” he said.

This is ultimately my hope with all of this. We increase trade and connections with everyone else in the world and they all do as well. As it backfires(?) and brings down the US hegemony, Canada needs to be prepared to leave big brother behind and move on with our cousins and siblings from another mother.

I think some drone factories might be in good order for Canada, too.

That's wishful thinking. It won't last though; production will go down and prices will go back up. And while the prices are down the producers suffer. And when production goes down there's less money in the economy and we call that a recession.

Canada needs to put similar tariffs on U.S. goods until the U.S. takes serious action to prevent smuggling of guns, cocaine, meth, heroin, and steroids into Canada over the Canada-U.S. border.

In any case, I foresee fentanyl production within the U.S. skyrocketing in the next couple of years.

I haven't had to use antacids since I quit drinking, FYI.

I had brief time I might have needed it recently, but I think that was bad food.

Time to take a look at your eating and drinking habits.

I.e. If they don't care about themselves, why would they care about anyone else or the environment around them?

I haven't heard about this? What'd he do?

This came up after a friend was playing a trivia game. We were looking up what colour the wedges were for the different categories in Trivial Pursuit and it came up with this gem.

Search is "trivial pursuit sports and leisure colour"

Is Hot sorting broken? (self.lemmy_support)

I know this has been an issue in the past, but it seems to have reared its ugly head again. Sorting posts by Hot (for my subscriptions) I get almost the same results as sorting by New.

I'll use other sorts as a workaround, but I usually like the hot sort.

Anyone else noticing this?

Several videos floating around, some articles are reporting 1 dead (possibly the suspect).

More than $485 million in illicit drugs and drug ingredients seized in rural B.C. community

Some excerpts:

According to police, the amount of fentanyl and other materials seized would have amounted to more than 95,500,000 potentially lethal doses and worth an estimated $485 million in profit.

The "superlab" was located in the community of Falkland, B.C., an unincorporated community about 50 kilometetres east of Kamloops.

The Mounties say the bust is a "decisive blow" to those who organized it and that in addition to the facility in Falkland, several locations in Surrey were also searched.

Aside from the drugs, which included 54 kilograms of fentanyl, 390 kilograms of methamphetamine and 35 kilograms of cocaine, police also seized 89 firearms, several small explosives, body armour and $500,000 in cash.

Editorialized title to indicate this happened yesterday since it's not breaking news now.
