Sure they were products of the time period. You had to own land at least to have any kind of power back in the day. They were not perfect but they did have a vision of a government that could work without traditional kings.
They would be pissed about Trump trying to overrun the other branches. I'n the end, they wouldn't give a fuck about slaves. As long as their land was worked and they survived. They wouldn't have cared.
