There's actually a book coming out about how super-rich individuals keep investing in foolish fantasies about creating a secluded colony or space home or whatever. Should be here in October, I believe.

Agreed. Orson Scott Card is a neocon and a very conservative Mormon.

Highly recommend reading this article.

I want to get into it, tbh. Seems relaxing.

Questions:

  1. What do you intend to play next?

  2. Any times where you went through "gaming hiatuses"?

That's all.

My answers are The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and, yes, I've been through a long 8-year gaming hiatus until a year ago.

Today’s discussion questions are…

  1. What are you reading in terms of FICTIONAL works?

  2. What are you reading in terms of NON-FICTION works?

My answers:

I plan to do a re-read of the A Song of Ice and Fire series.

And I'm currently reading the works of Lev Vygotsky for the very first time, the most famous Soviet psychologist that ever lived.

Bonus question:

What’s your favorite genre of fictional literature?

And my answer to that would be: probably fantasy, as trite as that sounds.

I plan to watch another Soviet film but I might go for a Chinese one instead. Still haven't watched Lightyear... yet. Also, I plan to watch the Spanish show El Cid since I heard good things about it but we'll see how that goes.

Discussion questions:

  1. What TV shows are the best ones you've watched in the current decade?

  2. Are there any unpopular or middling movies or TV shows that you like that most people don't?

My answers?

I haven't watched any TV shows or dramas this year, but I can say that, in terms of "unpopular opinions," I tend to consider the Hannibal TV show to be the best of the 2010s.

Since I'm going to finish Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (in probably about 10 hours given how long it takes to beat it) I'm currently looking for another game to play. Maybe Gamedec? Or maybe something other than a CRPG? We'll see. I'll check on suggestions that you all have down below.

Discussion questions:

  1. Who are your favorite game developers in terms of favorite video games? (Nintendo, Sony, etc.)

  2. How did you first get into video games?

My answers:

Overall, I'd have to say Nintendo and Owlcat Games (though that last one is more current). In terms of how I first got into video games? The Nintendo 64 was a godsend in that regard. I played the Star Wars pod-racing game first and then, from there, I played a few other classic games like Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Never quite liked Super Mario 64 though as much as some other people. Me, personally, anyway.

I'm probably the only one lol

But seriously, I also love the classical music from the Soviet Union (and I don't mean just household names like Shostakovich).

It just means that there's a lot more societal unrest and mental illness, never mind the rise of white supremacist ultra-right forces.

Hmmm, ripe for revolution, but could result in an even stronger ultra-right political faction.

Hmm...

Wait... WHAT!?

Damn, that's some coincidence. You probably should play it sometime, but it's kinda old right now.

Then again, people still play Gothic 1 and 2 so I guess it's no big deal.

I plan to play Morrowind sometime.
