But RIP stands for “Rest In Peace”. So “RIP in peace” means, literally, “rest in peace in peace”.

The nonsensical bit has nothing to do with RIF.

What I hate is that companies can pay to have posties deliver their junk mail to you, and you have to jump through a lot of hoops to ‘opt out’.

You’re ‘opted in’ by default, of course… 🤬
