  • budget I'd say $800 as I want it to be an entry machine
  • I have 3D printers and can print ABS and ASA if I need to make something for the build, no woodworking tools nor experience
  • I consider myself knowledgeable in both software and hardware, be it flashing firmwares on MCUs or even modifying them if need be (I work a lot on raspberry pis and ESP32s) and I can solder simple parts like through hole pins and connectors and I can design my own 3D parts as well

if building from scratch means more value for money I'd do it and I started looking into printNC but I didn't find the time to actually get to know the BOM

hello all, I want to get into CNCs and wanted a recommendation for a starter machine mainly for acrylic I don't know much about CNCs but I am into 3D printing and 3D design so the software side shouldn't be too challenging

I work out of my apartment and I think 300x300mm is a reasonable size in case the information is useful

any recommendations and advice are welcome

you shouldn't base your thinking on western news which generally have an incentive to exaggerate everything related to Afghanistan and taliban.

there's a recent video from a non-muslim youtuber called Arab going to the taliban and vlogging his experience, from what I saw in his video the taliban aren't as bad as the headlines suggest, I don't really like the guy but the videos are good.

the fact that they don't give girls the same rights as boys are facts, but there's more to it than just "girl less than boy" as the media portrays it, you need to understand the culture more before coming to conclusions like that the afghans think of women as subhuman.

it looks like any other grey thermal paste I've ever seen, what exactly made you think it's this specific expensive paste?

I guess Xenon as in the headlight type?

what's the SDR got to do with piracy though?

I believe you misunderstood the problem, the threads are not usually the problem, the problem is the brass heat insert the hinge threads into, the insert just breaks off the plastic with the screw still threaded in, usually because the hinge is a bit too tight/rigid and puts a lot of force into the insert pulling it out

this seems to be the case in this picture as well

seems like everyone is immediately suspecting HP, rightfully so... my HP also did this exact same thing and I had to epoxy it to the frame to get it back together

they do a good job cooling the place, the floors are cooled and there's a lot of water sprayed everywhere and lots of fans and stuff, with the number of people going there there needs to be ample preparation.
